Wie leest er niet eerst voor die iets ondertekent?
Orthodox religious conservatives gonna orthodox religious conservative. I’m glad the reaction was a resolute, stern rejection of this letter.
And before people start bashing islam specifically; these kind of mothers often join forces with orthodox catholic mothers. It really doesn’t matter that much what Abrahamic sect it is when it comes to stuff like this. Like what happened in september last year with those new sex-ed lessons in Brussels and Wallonia.
Wow, Weyts managing to be right for once, with only a week to spare before the next election.
The even funnier part is that if those fundamentalist muslims don’t want their children to get sexual education, the parents should vote for VB…. So those lessons get dropped AND the parents and children will be deported. Will significantly lower the risk of their children hearing about gay people existing!

Ze zullen op VB moeten stemmen als ze daar verandering in willen.
Religion shouldn’t even be decided by parents imho, it’s just brain washing kids from early on, ramming certain ideas and values into their heads that many will just accept as truth. Then they accept whatever religious leaders say, often sticking to their outdated traditional ways in this ever-changing world.
Religion in schools should be introductory, touching high level beliefs, history and culture of the most prominent ones in the country as well as irreligion and teaching acceptance of the beliefs of others. Then guided to other instances at any point in life where they can start learning more, it shouldn’t be part of regular education.
I don’t think many religions will survive this approach without parents forcing it.

Ik hoop ‘t. Maar meanwhile hoor ik van mijne kleine die in Borgerhout naar school gaat wel vaak totaal andere verhalen betreft de mening van moslim klasgenoten. Tenenkrullende angstaanjagende zaken betreft het bestaan van de hel, de walging voor lgbtq, ‘trans’ als nieuw scheldwoord, en meisjes die vooral niet teveel mogen denken voor zichzelf.
