  1. I know people get a hard on for shitting on Ryanair but how in the fuck were they and the other airlines found ‘guilty’? It’s an optional fee. You aren’t forced or obliged to pay so how can they fine them for it? You can’t take a business to court as they are charging 50 quid for a coffee. You simply don’t buy it or go somewhere else.

This seems absurd and I can’t see how they won’t win on appeal.

  2. 5 and a half years of breaking rules, I’m guessing they’re all in profit after the fines?

  3. From the article:
“The fines total over €150m, with some airlines ordered to pay more than others.

Ryanair, which was the first to start charging extra for hand luggage in November 2018, was hit with the biggest fine, Facua said without specifying the amount.”

“Ryanair last week said its net profit jumped a third to €1.92 billions in its financial year as higher demand and fares offset ballooning fuel costs.”

Brace yourselves for the fares increase! Like almost after net profit of almost €2b I wouldn’t be surprised if they resort to skinning flyers even more.

  4. One of the most popular posts on this sub this week was a lad saying how he got screwed by Ryanair in this regard

He was lambasted left and right for not “following the rules” to a tee

And “he shouldn’t have smiled” at the staff who did it to him

All this while Ryanair are known for having staff who are wall to wall cunts

    Never change r/Ireland, never change
