  5. People calm down, this is diversion, behind the scenes the US said yes, but to throw off Russia from escalating they are saying no. If Ukraine hits Russian critical infrastructure the United States can say we had no idea.

  14. This constant talk about whether or not Ukraine can strike within Russia is the reason it’s a problem in the first place. If countries didn’t announce this from the get-go this would just be something that just happened and a part of this war. No other war has ever been fought with these kind of restrictions impossed on the fighting countries, so why make this nothing-burger a thing…?

    Make a silent deal that new toys aren’t used in Russia before after 3 month of use, and after that, Russia wouldn’t bat an eye when it’s used in there among other Ukrainian indigenous weapons.

  15. Let’s be honest, the US would never accept such a restriction placed on itself if it were defending itself in an invasion. To expect it of someone else is both ridiculous and hypocritical. Biden is miles better than Trump, because Trump would weaken the collective West and NATO substantially and probably cut off Ukraine aid altogether, but these conditions are silly. Clearly, behind the scenes the Russians have communicated this would be a red line for them, and for whatever reason the administration is taking it seriously.

I suspect (not 100% sure but…) that they don’t care about ukrainian lives, they just want to make this conflict a slow death for Russia while not taking any risk (Avoiding violent russian collapse) and while they keep their influence (IE: selling THEIR fossile ressources to EU, keeping their bases etc).

    Meawhile Putin’s bitches (medvedev etc) are doing gross nuclear threats to europe without any problem since two years.

    But I guess Eu leaders know it and are planning to increase their own weapons production, maybe they are massively helping Ukraine in producing its own missiles. I hope something will be done faster.
