Back in Liverpool for a day out. A lot of other great older and newer buildings obviously, but seeing his big bastard was one of my earlier remaining memories!

I admit it doesn’t seem so big now. Some 5 year old are just kinda dumb, I guess.
I had a dream last week I was lost in Liverpool (used to live there) and couldn’t find my way cos I couldn’t see the Radio City Tower.
Man I need to come back
You may enjoy some of this. Some of it is very nerdy. https://youtu.be/kwDK5peMqfc?si=PX9mW_WkBLbvudHz
As an adult human who didn’t grow much past junior school this is still humongous.
I used to go there as a kid in the early 70s – the top balcony was the most perfect whispering gallery, me and my brother used to love playing there.
My mum was going to take my Gran there for her 80th birthday, but she died a few months short in late 1976, so that year would be the last time I went…it was such a lovely day out. We used to to to the Mersey ferry at the same time, and play the game of “Walking across the Mersey” – walking round and round the top deck on the journey across to Birkenhead where our Dad, who’d nipped through the tunnel, would meet us.
I only have fond memories of Liverpool – I’ll stop there before I bore you all to tears with stories about playing in and around West Derby…
I wonder what will happen to the lettering now that Radio City is no more.
I know – went yesterday! Seems so much smaller. Hats off to liverpool for what they’ve achieved with the evolution of the city
