Because the police don’t investigate crimes that happen in the past!
To late! Police don’t investigate retrospectively as we all know!
Can guarantee if it was someone wealthy that had this happen to them then the filth would be out en mass arresting everyone possible, but because it’s only happened to “normal” people then it’s simply ignored.
See the old bill / the filth living down to their well deserved nicknames as ever.
> The Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales, Dame Vera Baird QC, says she is worried the public are losing confidence in fraud policing
The general public are losing / have lost confidence in **all** the police not just “fraud policing” as it’s becoming all to blatant these days that the police only ever help out / protect the wealthy yet again and simply fuck over the “normal” people
I work in this field. There’s nowhere near enough trained investigators in the police to deal with the volume of offences, and with online offences forming an increasingly large proportion, most of the offenders are outside the UK, and therefore out of reach. It needs sorting, but that will take government investment in training and resources. The banks aren’t doing enough to challenge the issue either.
Can say that about the police response to anything. As well as adding “are incompetent”
The police are just there to protect the rich and their property. Anything else is a lie.
Yep, feels like there is crime after crime that the Police just don’t even try on.
It’s 2022 and people still have hope for British police to actually investigate crimes that aren’t online?
As anyone knows, action fraud is a complete joke. Every thread online has people recommending “report it to action fraud” but action fraud are not law enforcement. They are just a basic reporting agency who collate information and dont even pass the vast majority of reports to the police.
By reporting to action fraud you are literally inserting your report into a giant waste paper basket, for some officials to sporadically and occasionally pick a few reports out that look easy to investigate, then pass these on to the police, who then themselves decide whether to investigate and often dont.
Fraud is literally ignored its so bizarre.
The days of plod collaring a thief on a hunch are gone. Most polis are not keyboard warriors.

[BBC Radio 4 Money Box](https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0013qsh) is covering this in more detail this lunchtime.
