‘I don’t hate you, I just need to throw you under the bus to appease older voters’
Other than his single embarrassing TikTok, Sunak has no interest in appealing to the younger generations as he’s well aware he does not appeal to them. He’s of the opinion that no matter what he says they’re gonna vote against him anyway so he might as well stick it to the kids in order to curry favour with older people.
He doesn’t hate young people, they’re just not of any use to him other than as scapegoats and national service policies.
His and the Tory view is that you are the problem. They see the Tory party as the answer to any question so when you ask something that doesn’t align with them then they need to turn and frame it as you being the problem to not be onboard with some facet of as issue.
Maybe the student should shut his mouth and go to military service, i am sure that will convince the young people to vote for him right?
I’m not a Sunak defender by any means, but despite the memes, National service wasn’t about being sent to the army. I believe it was said to be optional. I mean, I wouldn’t have put it past Sunak to at least try, but that wasn’t what he was campaigning for. People seem to read headlines literally and it’s really concerning.
He does not hate them specifically. He hates people not part of the ruling elite generally, which just encompasses most young people.
Unfortunately the kid fumbled this — he had the policy wrong and gave Sunak the opportunity to correct him, and even to explain the upsides of his policy. The core of it is a good idea; the proposed implementation is idiotic.
It’s really nothing personal, that’s the thing. Statistically, they don’t vote Tory and even when they do go to the polling station it’s sometimes Labour and more often Lib or Greens as a protest vote.
I would have more respect for politicians if they actually stopped, answered the question while looking the person in the eyes instead of always trying to walk away when the shit hits the fan
Sunak does not hate all young people. The idea of this is absolutely preposterous.
There is literally thousands of young people that study / studied at Eton that probably have posters of Sunak on their bedroom walls.
You’ll love it, you’ll love it.
Speaks like someone trying to convince their kid to go off to a shitty summer camp.
He doesn’t hate them. It’s worse than that, he doesn’t care at all.
‘You’ll love it’ shouts this tory ghoul, who never did anything like this himself.
I don’t even know how it can be legal, to force someone to do something they don’t want to do.
Surely this is an afront to civil liberties at the very least?
The look on his face: “Whaaaat? Get this peasant out of here!”
I don’t hate you, it’s just that the young ones don’t vote for me. I need to keep the old ones happy.
Because you’re all stupid and useless and have a terrible work ethic.
Get that mad lad signed to a record label to cover ‘Things can only get better’ in time for an election week number one.
Good for that young man. Asks a great question, Sunak then goes for a typical gaslight reply – “No, you’ll have a choice. You’ll love it”
“I have young people friends… Well no, not young people”
You’ll have a choice. 1 year in the armed forces, and if you refuse you’ll get a community sentence of 1 month’s unpaid work (“volunteering”). If you fail to comply wiith this, don’t worry – you won’t go to prison. Your parents will be fined, instead.
Long story short – you’ll be able to pay your way out of it.
What a surprise.
So service is good for young people…. did RS then do service for the community 🤔
“Why do you hate old people so much?”
