If I were someone in the government who had a say, I would slowly but surely get pissed off. Ukraine should have the capacity and the knowledge to produce its own nuclear weapons. I would then communicate this to my “partners”. Think about your actions, otherwise we will have to defend ourselves in our own way. And they would have every right to do so. I hope it doesn’t have to come to that, but it would be a means of getting the supporters back on track.
At some point this feels like WW2 again.
America keeping help to a minimum, letting Europe destroy itself, for as long as possible, until Hitler in a dumb move declared war to America.

At least allow these strikes on a case by case basis.. The Pentagon is heavily involved anyway.
They might be scared of cluster munition ATACMs being used against semi civilian targets like refineries. But there’s no reason not to strike a military airfield.

Unfortunately I get the sinking feeling that the US doesn’t care about Ukrainian victory or care about Ukrainian casualties. I think they just want to degrade Russia and the more resources Russia pours into it, the weaker they become, long term. It is a classic bear trap, like Afghanistan 2.0.
Everyone knows that Russia cannot win, they will never be able to capture Kyiv, there is no way they can invade NATO conventionally if Ukraine is stopping them cold with old hand me down equipment.
Russia will be able to grind themselves and the Ukrainians to a negotiated settlement at such a tremendous cost that the Russian economy will be devastated for decades.
Without 3x or more offensive power, Ukraine can’t recapture lost territory now that Russia has figured out defensive strategy.
Given drone and missile technology, I think the advantage has swung back in favor of defenders.
Americans are unreliable partners.
Or maybe it’s a ploy. Announce it, allow the Russians to be REALLY complacent and then secretly allow the strikes and then… light them up.
