lovely really lovely idea and it was great I’m glad we did it so right do you want a going to ask why do you hate young people so much making us go to the Army you’re making us no you’ll have a choice you’ll have a choice volunteered all my life and you will love it you love it why do I have to do it again when I’m finally coming out of education and then because do it that a cultural service is a good thing for our country a choice do this

A 16-year-old singer-songwriter who confronted Rishi Sunak and asked him why he “hates young people so much” said he felt the Prime Minister tried to “escape the question”.

Student Henry Hassell, who lives in Drewsteignton, in west Devon, told the PA news agency he had the conversation with the Prime Minister on Wednesday at The Drewe Arms, a local pub.

A video of the interaction, which was shared by Henry on TikTok and has since been shared across other social media platforms, shows the 16-year-old questioning Mr Sunak on his plan to enforce mandatory national service if the Conservatives are elected, and asking: “I was just going to ask, why do you hate young people so much?”

  1. In the forthcoming years the UK may need conscripted troops. It is more effective and quicker to take someone who has already had some military training to get them to a certain level, than to take someone who has never had any training at all.
Unfortunately there is currently not enough military trainers to train these young people going into national service.

  2. I'm no fan of Sunk but this is a very immature question from someone still wet behind the ears. Why not use the opportunity to ask a more intelligent question.

  3. Maybe because they think they know everything and think the world owes them something, entitled little t***s. And this immature action just proves it. If he hates anyone it's the middle aged WORKERS.

  4. I would say to the young man for the answer look at yourself another one that hasn't got the intelligence to understand the implementation of the scheme.

  5. Probably like me he thinks the young have no idea unless it's on social media. Going into the army will either make it break them but as they rely on mummy itll break them.

  6. The people in the military in the UK are meaningless to all politicians in or out of government. The types of characters who send the military into wars that are not defending the UK and those people are KIA or return with physical injuries they'll have ho deal with for the rest of their lives as well as PTSD that may not be obvious until years later.
The government dont care, human life is meaningless to them, because they are all 100% psychopathic no empathy or remorse in them, they're good at mimicking human emotions, mimicking they're not genuine.
The unelected billionaire UK Prime Minister is the lowest character out of a political party of low individuals.

  7. I wish he had taken the time to engage with the young lad rather than rushing off as he did; this was his chance to convince young voters.
