  1. ***The Telegraph reports:***

[Russia ](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/06/01/russia-unleashes-biggest-missile-attack-in-weeks/)has begun probing the borders of [Finland](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/02/19/finland-shooting-ranges-boost-national-defence/) and [Estonia ](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/05/11/paras-operation-swift-response-estonia-dispatch/)for weaknesses as it draws up what Western security chiefs suspect is a long-term plan to capture parts of the Baltic region after the war in Ukraine.

In the space of just a week, Moscow has ignited border disputes with both Nato member states, issuing a draft proposal to revise its sea border with Finland and removing a series of buoys in Estonian waters used to mark a river frontier with Russia.

The moves followed a warning last week by Micael Bydén, Sweden’s chief of defence, that Vladimir Putin aims to eventually seize control of the Baltic and use it as a “playground” to “terrorise” Nato members.

Diplomats from the Baltic states and security experts have told The Telegraph the provocations were part of a wider strategy by Moscow to test the West’s resolve and potentially to seek out weak spots for a future incursion.

  2. NATO will have to respond to any incursion in member nations or it will be meaningless.

  3. And France is actively putting troops in Ukraine. I’d say Putin has a more restrained response.

  4. Not sure I believe this. Can someone give me a logical reason for this? He can’t really believe he can go toe to toe with NATO especially in a two front line at.

Posturing for the home audience that he doesn’t fear NATO (assuming true)?

  5. Maybe he is completely delusional now? Almost like he doesn’t understand that when he finally does prompt a response, it won’t be proportionate and will certainly be decisive.

  6. If he fucks with a nato member his shitty military will be borscht.

  7. Nato needs to arm the f*ck up. Putin will only be deterred by large defensive force.

  8. When is James Bond just going to take care of Putin for us?

  9. As a guy who lives in a nato country, I hope this comes to pass

  10. He’d be annihilated anywhere within the borders so the tests are pointless

  11. I hear that Alaska is full of weak spots, completely unmonitored by the US Government. Would be a shame if russia were to try and retake Alaska by using the FAFO method 🤭

  12. This is b—sh-t – They are wanting to trigger something which is not there, and they need to escalate this because Ukraine is losing this engagement. NATO needs to be disbanded like it was supposed to be after ww2.

It is only still active because the US uses it to keep a fence around Russia, and that’s it.

They also enjoy the $$$ benefits as every member country MUST purchase its weapons from guess who?

Consider this, how many member countries and bases does RUSSIA have around the US? none. Funny that, especially considering they nearly went to war when the USSR as they were then were dropping some missiles off to old mate in Cuba back in 67 I think. The irony ?

  13. Really? They fuck up with a poor Ukrainian army, how will they perform if the entire western army is involved and not just some weapons we which we donate to Ukraine?

Btw we should donate so much more to the Ukraine so they cam kick the ruSSian ass.

  14. It’s my country, 🇨🇦, although it’s improving.

  15. Deciding where he wants his army to get the highway of death treatment.

  16. Yeah their depleted Army sure would love to go against NATO

  17. That is just stupid on his part. Russia has no way of waging any war given their losses and current training/equipment status.

  18. Does Putin really think he has a chance against NATO? I still don’t understand his strategy in all of this

  19. Sarcastic Ukrainian: “Putin will never invade NATO county. It’s not in his interest”.

  20. NATO does not shoot down Russian airplanes violating its airspace. That’s a mistake NATO will regret sooner rather than later.

  21. I don’t think Putin is dumb enough to attack a NATO country. I don’t think it’s his ambition either(I could be wrong but I doubt it). I have a feeling that these articles are sponsored by the Industrial military complex for even better sales of their weapons. They are already reeling in crazy money due to ongoing wars and would like most of the world be unstable for their own profits.

  22. Yes but they never attack the same place twice. They’re testing the fences for weaknesses systematically. They remember….

  23. He can barely manage to take Kharkiv with a large gps jammed, logistics networked force, yet is poking holes in random, unstrategic, and inhospitable mountainsides?

Lol the propaganda is strong today.

  24. He expected to run over Ukraine in 3 weeks or so. 2 Plus years later it’s still going on. And that’s without direct NATO involvement. If he really wants to find out what happens with Article 5 he can… but it won’t end well for Russia.

  25. Russia is begging for more western involvement so they can run back to their single digit iq populace and say “look the west is aggressive”

  26. He’s already been blatantly testing the waters and NATO has done nothing.
