Since the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, I come to Reddit everyday to watch the Worlds alleged second best army failing day after day, with any gains being due to the enormous waste of life and equipment. Fortunately, Russia has a terrible military otherwise what is happening in Ukraine could be much much worse.

For all the rhetoric and BS coming from Putin and his puppet propaganda teams about taking Warsaw and Berlin got me thinking. I’ve often thought that hypothetically if Poland invaded Russia, could they do it?

The big element here is obviously Russia is a nuclear state and Poland isn’t. But when you look at conventional forces vs conventional forces, Poland has a massive land army capability which is only improving and ditto their air force is growing in capability.

I think that if Poland went whole hearted into Russia, they would certainly get St Petersburg and Moscow. The Russian forces seem depleted, and can’t muster up anything of real substance

  2. Also Russia is on a war footing and are developing tons of ammo and weapons monthly. They have the man power… anyone invading them are going to have a rough time.

  3. At some point mass numbers would really start hurting the west. The west really needs to figure out a way to wage war with cost in mind as well. Yes, technology allows advantages over mass numbers. But the same vice versa. You do not have an unlimited number of multi-million dollar missiles.

    As much as people talk about drone armies (comes to mind because of their low cost). 30-40 drones we keep seeing is not really taking advantage of their cost. I feel countries should be able to send waves of multiple hundreds of drones. We are not there yet but with ramped up production. We may be seeing 500 drone waves decimating cities all at once. I am surprised Russia has not attempted it being mass casualty/panic is their goal. The biggest problem needing fixed besides production is finding a way to avoid jammers or efficiently disabling/locating them.

  5. I thought Poland already has nukes from the US. aren’t there several missile launch sites in and around Poland.?

  6. Poland wouldnt be able to do the attack needed due to Belarus and to be able to use the forces in a correct way they would need to split Belarusian military into smaller weaker formations with the help of the Baltic states.
    Plus remember Russia will flood the country of Belarus with the manpower to slow down any attacks from Poland which will keep Poland forces bogged down for years before getting to Russian land.

  7. Polish army is very capable and strong but taking moscow or major cities in russia is something else as we have seen in ukraine also an attack on russia would change mentality of all russians not just pro putin people

  8. The West is _way_ behind on the sort of drone warfare the Russians and especially the Ukrainians have pioneered and refined.

  9. You’re crazy if you don’t think the US is wayyyyyy far ahead of both these countries in drone tech. Both offensive and jamming. And operators.
