Od “naših” tu se nalaze – Dubravka Šuica, Ivan Penava, Karlo Ressler, Nikolina Brnjac i Romana Jerković.
Npr: *”During a session of the Vukovar City Council, Penava lost his temper, throwing a statute. Then he picked it up and threw it again. Then he threatened the Serbian minority.”*
Iako su skandali sami po sebi gotovo ništa u usporedbi sa onime na što smo inače navikli, inicijativa je sasvim solidna.
Dubravka Šuica (HDZ):
>EP’s Office of the Ombudsman started investigating Šuica when, in the program “Voice of the People” on Dubrovnik Television, she called out a journalist for unprofessionalism. She was vice president of the European Commission at the time.
>Rebuttal
>Šuica didn’t comment on this matter.
>Apparently failed to mention the value of her assets in her asset declarations. National fact-checking organisation acquired the documents, which showed question marks in place of providing the value.
>Rebuttal
>When talking about her assets in 2019, in the Croatian parliament, Šuica claimed that some were gained, and some inherited by her and her husband. She added that everything is “clear and transparent” and that there’s no fear for their properties and that Croatia will not be “embarrassed
Ivan Penava (DP):
>Penava’s parents got a state apartment in apparent violation of regulations. In the documentation concerning the state apartment, it is stated that they have the right to it “if they do not own another habitable residential building”, which they did. Several questionable real estate deals concerning Penava or his parents were also reported.
>Rebuttal
>In a press conference he claimed that the scandal was a media lynch and that the state apartment was acquired in accordance with the law that converts social into private property.
>Penava was found guilty of exceeding the speed limit; his driver’s license was revoked for three months and he was fined HRK 3,000 (about 400 euros).
>Rebuttal
>Penava admitted the wrongdoing and added that the police was doing its job professionally.
>During a session of the Vukovar City Council, Penava lost his temper, throwing a statute. Then he picked it up and threw it again. Then he threatened the Serbian minority.
>Rebuttal
>Penava has not commented on the incident.
Karlo Ressler (HDZ):
>Ressler, among with thousands of Croatian citizens who founded companies that had no business activities, was fined because he failed to submit the proper annual financial report for 2016 (i.e. a declaration of inactivity).
>Rebuttal
>Ressler hasn’t commented on this matter.
Nikolina Brnjac (HDZ):
>Brnjac was fined with suspension of payment of part of the salary in the total amount of HRK 2,000 (260€), because she failed to mention her husband’s boat in her asset declaration.
>Rebuttal
>Brnjac said that it was an honest mistake; she claims that her husband doesn’t own two boats, but that he sold one and bought another which has the same value so she forgot to change it in her asset declaration.
Romana Jerković (SDP):
>Jerković was fined HRK 300 (40€) for unjustified absences from the parliamentary sessions.
>Rebuttal
>Jerković didn’t comment on this.
>Jerković was fined with suspension of payment of part of her salary in the total amount of HRK 6,000 (about 800€) because she failed to mention her husband’s real estate in an asset declaration as obligated.
>Rebuttal
>At the time, she claimed that she “corrected the mistake”, and that journalists can check it in “two days, when the change will be recorded” in her asset declaration. There have been no reports concerning whether or not the change was ever recorded.
