  1. What amazes me is the GOP could win POTUS simply by dumping Trump and nominating Haley. The Grand Old Party has forgotten how to win.

  2. Opened like shocked they had some quickly realized to not get my hopes up.

  3. Possibly the *only* time I didn’t regret clicking on a click-baity-sounding news title.

  4. So……. … you’re saying there’s a chance……. YES!

  5. The truly sad thing is when the Access Hollywood tape came out, there were 34 Republicans that included senators and Congress people that call for drumpf to drop out. That’s why that POS ran to pay Stormy Daniels because he was teetering on the edge, and had that come out, it would have surely knocked him out of the race. So this case isn’t necessarily about the 34 felony counts it’s about how he defrauded the American public and stole the presidency and we all know what that led us to.

  6. Where’s Marjorie? She’s usually all over this kind of thing. She finally decide that politics isn’t her bag or something?

  7. Another off-ramp presents itself. Which they won’t take.

  8. Well, it’s about time they started seeing the light! It’s a bit late to be jumping ship now, don’t you think?

  9. What’s crazy is that Trump is absolutely decimating the Republican Party. He’s sucking up the money and Republicans have been sharply underperforming in other races.

  10. It’s not the GOP. It’s MAGA. The GOP no longer exists.

  11. You know what is sad, I’m sure a Republican would likely win if the nominee wasn’t Donald Trump. If this Republican was young, smart, ruthless, etc…. I’d say he would def beat Biden. Donald Trump is essentially holding the Republican Party hostage. He is a narcissist and will never step down. This is why they are now scared. They really believe Trump will lose and not only that, but suck the Republican funds dry so that lower level Republicans cannot gain any seats or political positions.

  12. The Leopards are eating their face, they used Trump as a goon an agitator to stop working class whites from voting in their interest

  13. Love this part.

    >(This list will be updated as the GOP statements come pouring in.)

Still a tumbleweed and I expect it will remain one.

  14. They have to keep supporting him.

My theory is that most have been caught in honey pot schemes and have been shown the videos of themselves banging young men/women that aren’t their spouse.

And the rest who couldn’t be tricked into becoming amateur porn stars after picking up KGB agents planted in business trip hotel bars have committed financial crimes that will be brought into the light if they step out of line.

The rats have no safe option to leave the sinking ship and must go down with their captain.

  15. From “[The role of the conservative elite in the Nazi rise to power](https://www.theholocaustexplained.org/the-nazi-rise-to-power/the-nazi-rise-to-power/the-role-of-the-conservative-elite/)”:

    >The conservative elite were the old ruling class and new business class in Weimar Germany. Throughout the 1920s they became increasingly frustrated with the Weimar Republic’s continuing economic and political instability, their lack of real power and the rise of communism. **They believed that a return to authoritarian rule was the only stable future for Germany which would protect their power and money**.

Hitler had previously been convicted in 1923 of leading a failed coup.

Just as Trump’s conviction doesn’t matter to Republicans, Hitler’s conviction didn’t matter to the conservative party in Germany, they still appointed Hitler Chancellor, they really just wanted to maintain power at any cost.

  16. Funny stuff.

Seriously, though, there’s no point in anyone telling Donald to drop out. In 2016, back when the GOP actually tried to pretend to give a fuck about morals, they told Donald to drop out after the “Grab ’em by the pussy” tape leaked. Instead of dropping out, Donald hatched the scheme to catch and kill any other bad stories about him and then falsify records to hide it. It worked. He became president by committing campaign crimes.

What lesson did Donald learn from that? The same lesson he’s known his whole rotten life: crime pays. Only this time, he was actually caught and punished for it.

Now he’s been convicted of 34 felonies, he has 3 other criminal trials waiting to proceed, and his only hope of making all that legal pain go away is if he becomes president again. He committed crimes to win before, and he’ll commit more crimes to try to win again.

  17. What’s really sickening is that if you actually get one of them to hypothetically accept that the trial was not rigged (*it wasn’t rigged–impossible, actually*), they will still support him.

You know, you go back to 2016, and the premise of allowing a party to nominate a candidate that has hundreds of millions in lawsuit fines weighing on them, convicted of sexual assault, and has multiple indictments with felony charges–and we’re not even talking about having been convicted yet–they’d be soundly rejected.

8 years later, the Republican Party has been totally transformed into a cult that considers the law and US Constitution conditionally applied–emphatic with use against the political opposition, but determined to give themselves exceptions. Outright corruption, in our faces.

The leaders of the Republican political machine have abdicated their oaths to this nation. They’re more than willing to have a convicted felon, a heinous man like Donald Trump as POTUS… even after his term was such a failure, but now mired in so much legal and financial trouble.

This degeneration of a political party is unprecedented. But it’s real. And it’s completely unacceptable.

  18. I can’t wait for all the gravy seals and meal team six crowd to start outing themselves to the FBI.

  19. Depending on the state, being a convicted felon limits a lot of rights. Possessing a firearm, voting, getting public assistance, serving on a jury, and even parental rights just to name a few. There’s even a lot of jobs or certifications you can’t get with a felony conviction. Strange that being the head of the Executive Branch isn’t one of them.

  20. My two year old phone number used to belong to a trumper. Periodically, I’d get text from “trump” or “Nikki Haley” or some other out-of-touch right-winger, or rather the organizations that claim to speak for them. I just click, “Delete and Report Junk.”

Since the verdict, they have been non-stop. Sometimes, the text itself isn’t just directing me to a link, it’s about six paragraphs long with lots of “rigged trial,” “democracy under attack,” and “we will have vengeance” references.

    These people are fucking nuts.
