Pretty sure they’ve been asking for a while, so what is “open door” supposed to mean?
Hahaha classic
We have drawn the line in the sand on NATO encroachment towards our borders and we’ve backed that up with force. In the same way that the U.S lost it’s mind when the Soviet Union decided to place missiles in Cuba because of the inherit strategic imbalance, we see the same threat with a full encroachment by NATO. It doesn’t matter what leadership we get in Russia, the consencus is clear that we will not allow further NATO expansion east. Georgia & Ukraine need to take stock and calculate what is at stake. A miscalculation could lose them a lot more real estate than they already have and make no mistake, when Russian forces roll in, NATO is not going to send it’s soldiers to die on their fronts knowing what is at stake. At best, they’ll get the courtesy of strongly worded letters, condemnations and sanctions.
>Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will stress this week that there is an “open door to NATO” for Ukraine and Georgia, the two nations on the front lines of Russian aggression, Pentagon officials said over the weekend.
If the door was open, they’d be in already. Instead, they’re out begging in the cold.
The idea that these countries need to somehow qualify to join is bullshit used to cover for the fact that NATO won’t let them in because of Russia’s reaction. They just won’t say that out loud.
NATO admitted star players such as Montenegro and North Macedonia, yet Ukraine somehow doesn’t qualify.
