i turned of my laptop before the final whistle. I couldn’t watch it
Football heritage
Sadly we all knew the results, but it’s the hope that kills us
Regardless, let’s hope our boys show up for the Finals next season. Also hoping other big European clubs also give a good fight next season. UCL has become somewhat boring over these years
What are your honest and realistic expectations from Kompany this season?
Mine are at least a 80+ points season
Statement signings and a few long overdue offloadings to set us up for the future, Musiala extension and hopefully a successor to Neuer as well.
After our matches in this ucl and seeing dortmund yesterday. I have cone to conclusion that we strongly need a goal scoring winger . Yesterday if adiyemi knew how to finish BVB would have won and similar would have happened if our wingers could finish. Its easy to mark a striker when you know other teams wingers can’t finish . Gnabry used to be the goal scoring winger but he is injured
2019 and 2020 were the best Champions League years.
Liverpool and Bayern winning the trophy.
Liverpool smashing Barca 4:0.
Bayern smashing Barca 8:2.
Real Madrid out of the UCL in the round of 16.
Man City outof the UCL in quarter-finals.
Honestly one major factor why Madrid does well in this competition, is their experience
We have seen what experience can bring when quality is lacking. Cup competitions often is about playing with confidence and vigor, if that is lacking then quality cannot help you
If you remember in 2019, Barcelona were undeniably the best team in the world. But their negative experiences of bottling it followed them into the match and it showed in their body language. We all know how that turned out
For Madrid, sadly their experience bred experience. Going so far into cup competitions allows them to build confidence, which in turn brings them far in cups.
Bayern had it in the 2010s era, with us making so many deep runs early on especially. Juventus and arguably Atletico Madrid had that confidence too
But most of the players have left since then, and only Neuer and Muller remain with deep experiences in the cup
This season however I’m glad that Bayern were able to beat Arsenal, a match which the team was clearly not the favourites. We did very well against Real, until we shit the bed in the last minute
This season makes me believe that we will do well in Cup competitions next season, but we need to get through our Real Madrid fear for the UCL and not losing against small teams in the Pokal
The shitty trinity of European football has been formed: Real, Man City and PSG.
Don’t know how the season will be, but the minimum expectations have to be a Pokal Semis and Top 2 at worst.
We haven’t progressed past the Quarters since 19/20, and in 3 of them we exited before Round of 16
How does Davies compare to Alaba at LB at the same age?
I wonder what Mourinho and Klopp said to Terzic after the final whistle?
I saw him and Mourinho hugging on the TV, which was nice, and I’d imagine Klopp said some words to him too over losing to a CL final to Madrid.
> Bayern have decided not to sign Assan Ouédraogo this summer and have informed the player’s camp of their decision. The club is now unwilling to shoulder the financial package. The race for the player is now open again [@Plettigoal]
Wow
Dortmund supporters really took London over this weekend. Since Thursday they’ve been everywhere. It seemed like there were about 7 to every 1 person wearing Real Madrid stuff. It’s really disappointing it wasn’t us playing them.
Am i the only one who just feels stuck so far behind Madrid? I know top 5 in the world we are, but the mysticism and just aura are described by the players themselves being different. Some of the Kroos quotes over the years just rile me up because I feel like to the actual players we are not a top destination. We are not the pinnacle of the beautiful game but merely a stepping stone. In my own eyes and heart we are a club of legends or will be looked back as being legendary. For all the success we’ve had as a club it just still feels so far behind when looking at Real.
>Bayern are still ‘totally convinced’ of Ouédraogo, but have decided to save the financial package this summer [@Plettigoal

This only makes sense if Bayern is 100% sure that they can get him anyways for a similar price later.
Otherwise why pass on a young talent you are 100% convinced of? Chances are his value explodes sooner or later or he changes his mind about joining Bayern

CampusVids claim there are some very high numbers next to the fee (signing bonus etc.)
I wouldve loved him, but anyone that followed him this season can understand the reasoning. Hr struggled massively with his body in his first professional season and was injured practically 80% of the season

Winning at Wembley isn’t for everyone
