What if he had not made this mistake and let him score, would Barca’s situation have changed? Would we have been the ones to be in the final? Was it possible for us to get close to the top of La Liga? For me, this shot is the reason why Barca’s season was lost

There are always what-if scenarios. I don’t think it is worth speculating what would have happened. If you take it far enough and turn all negative what-ifs into positive what-ifs, we would probably win most titles every year.
I doubt we’d be able to get past Dortmund tbh, I don’t think one moment negates the fact that we’ve been poor throughout this season.
Would’ve could’ve should’ve 😭
Flick should get Lahm to coach defenders specifically
stop crying now aren’t you tired of what-ifs move ahead
I’m glad we didn’t reach the final. I’d much rather go out in the QF than have Madrid win the final against us, which is inevitably what would have happened, looking at the last clasicos.
Araujo red card, Cancelo penalty and the missed penalty for us on Gündogan.
The CL gods fucking hates our guts
No, no and maybe.
The player was not the first to be put through, just the first in a more central position. It was just a question of time until they scored from one of these through balls. And without Araujo off our tactics would not have changed, so there would have been more of the same. The reality is that Barca 23/24 was just not good enough to win the CL and got as far as it realistically could. Most of the teams in that round were overall better.
In the league defending the leads against Real and Girona would have made it close indeed. But defending wasn’t exactly the forte of this team.
I guess we’ll never know 🤷
I don’t think we could even beat Dortmund.
I do think that moment was the turning point in our season but now it’s pointless thinking what could’ve happened
Of all I had learned this year is that ” what it’s” doesn’t exist. We just need to learn and be better. As much as I hate Madrid they have the template and grit to always come on top. We just need to get better and stop focusing on the winners, that’s a loser mentality
Man I’m so depressed about everything about football nowadays. Haven’t watched a football match since the home leg vs PSG.
I would’ve rather been beaten 2-0 both legs, this one moment has been living rent free in my mind for what it seems like forever
No it wouldnt have. Because having mental midgets like ter stegen dejong and cancelo wouldve ensured we would have conceded more. A serious team at least makes it hard for the opponent after going down to 10men. Our joker of a manager in a panic took off our only pacy winger and outlet and proceeded to let grandpa lewandowski run our attack alone with negative pace. We are a joke in europe and will continue to be as long as we employ divas with no intensity off the ball.
Araujo made a mistake but that’s expected with his playstyle. What’s wrong with this team is our quality isn’t balanced enough to make it far in the UCL. We have amazing interiors, a potentially generational RW and one of the best CBs in the world, but our LW is dead, our striker is aging and not hungry, no DM and of course a GK who can only save shots that are directly into his arms.
Personally, a world class DM, a serviceable and consistent (not even world class) LW and a much better GK would be enough to make UCL finals consistently.
I swear this is the first thing I thought about when I woke up this morning 😭
Its not worth it bro let it go these what ifs been since neymar but in reality its hit u different
We have too many errors in us. Fat too many for one of the biggest clubs in the world. We needed that discipline. We need strict standards in the dressing room. We need the players to believe in themselves that they can win in any situation. The motivation to kill the game after going a goal up. This had to change. Physically and mentally we need to prepare ourselves.
Araujo made a terrible mistake. It would’ve been better to have a 1 on 1. Worst case scenario is that they score and we are still 1 up. Xavi then compounded the mistake by getting a red card himself and leave the team without direction in a critical moment
He would have not scored. That’s the problem.
