I left eir 6 months ago and every month they issue me a bill….. Then they start threatening me about cutting my off…..then I’m cut off….then I get a legal email/text….then I get a bill.
No account or service….just a credit control team on autopilot
I managed to get through to EIR after a few hours and cancelled my service with them. They still charged me for the next few months, so I went on the com reg website got a number specifically for eir and talked to them after 30 seconds. Lad on the phone cancelled what I wanted and gave me the next two months of what I had left free.
Fuck eir the cunts. Twice they tried to fuck us over and it’s my own fault for going back the second time with the deal they offered that didn’t end up being what they offered the pricks.
They are changing to 5g in a bit which allows everyone to leave their contract because they will be upping the price to reflect the addition of 5g.
How difficult they will make that we shall see.
I will never understand why we pay for landlines no one uses just to get internet….
Well going on the Eir boss comments a while back shouldn’t he nuke Sligo
I *tried* to get Eir broadband, but they never showed up to install it. *I* contacted *Eir* each time to reschedule. Eventually, I gave up and cancelled without ever actually getting their broadband.
They kept sending me bills for a service I never received.
I eventually got through to them and worked
through it. They provided a full refund.
I also asked they delete all my records and got an email confirming they did (Yeay GDPR).
Reader, I still get bills.
I worked for security for an eir shop and the heartbreak I saw when the manager had to inform his staff of a new policy was palpable. He knew it was a dumb policy, he knew it would piss customers off, and he knew that would be taken out on his staff.
The amount of shit corporate try to get pushed through that managers literally have to threaten to resign over is unreal.
They wanted to apply a bunch of charges for basic services in shops and the manager I knew started asking about fire insurance and if they could afford two or maybe three security guards in the shop.
1. Registered letter to their HQ(Or billing dept, as you wish) informing them of cancellation of contract.
2. Call bank, cancel their direct debit if it is setup
That’s it. Why stress about it?
I use my mobile as a WiFi hot-spot for everything and it works great, only €20 a month and no contract.
Cancelled a contract with them a few years ago. Followed their requirements to the letter of the law, x days notice, required notices/letters etc. Was warned by a friend to keep copies of everything, lo and behold 3 months later a large chunk of cash went from my bank account to Eir. The lady from customer services was nothing short of obnoxious to me when I called to figure out what was going on. They charged me for breaching contract and the 3 months I hadnt “paid” and some other fee and said they had cut me off! I send an email to comreg with all the original correspondence from when I had closed the contract and asking them what I should do to resolve, no joking the money was back in my account within 3 hours of sending the email to comreg!
I tried to cancel my dead fathers mobile phone bill. Or transfer it into my moms name and change it to a plan that worked for her. This seemed impossible, not just because they would have to speak to the account holder (deceased) to make any changes.
After a number of hour long calls etc, I reached out on Linked in to someone senior in customer service, and explained the problem.
They put me in touch with someone who got my mom sorted with a bill in her name and a plan that suited – hooray!
Now my deceased father gets 2 Eir bills every month, both showing a €25 credit. No, I don’t know how/why either.
The idea of trying to cancel it is legitimately traumatising after the past experience.
They are still asking my mother to return an Apple TV box that they *never sent her*
My dad has been treated like absolute shite. They’re heartless scum.
This is too funny!
I want a whole group of anarchists to infiltrate an Eir building and destroy the place. I might as well stand in front of an Open Eir van and demand them to give my family high-speed broadband.
