Anyone know where I can find a comprehensive list of renamed cities under German rule like the ones here?

  1. Found whilst browsing on a page about a fake country in a video game:

[Gotenland | The New Order: Last Days of Europe Wiki | Fandom](https://the-new-order-last-days-of-europe.fandom.com/wiki/Gotenland)

As a side note, im pretty sure this is not the right place to post it, but im kind of desperate to get some answers right now as I couldnt find it myself, sorry if this is insensitive.

Edit: obviously, im asking about WW2 era, dont know how I forgot something so crucial

  2. The only ukrainian city that i know of is Lwiw which was (and sometimes still is) called Lemberg.

  3. This list is very long. What further complicates the fact is that there are quite a few cities that do have an official German name, often older them their non-German one, from when they belonged to Germany or Austria but are now more commonly refered to by their non-German name at least in English without an official “renaming” ever taking place. Also during the Nazi period Slavik place names in integral German territories where in fact changed.

Here a list of renamed places in the Lausiz area alone: [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_von_Ortsumbenennungen_in_der_Lausitz_1936/37](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_von_Ortsumbenennungen_in_der_Lausitz_1936/37)

Notice that none of the cities listed in your list where actually renamed, German media at the time did use “Sewastopol” not “Theoderichshafen” for that city for example. It was only planned to eventually rename them after the war.
