  1. We have a boulevard in Bucharest named after him, never knew the story till now.

  2. If I were there in the traffic, without context, I would be completely shitting my pants.

  3. Damn we also do this for Atatürk in Turkey this Hristo botev guy must be a very respected and loved person in Bulgaria

  4. We have similiar thing in Poland on every 1st August honoring heroes of Warsaw Uprising of 1944.

  5. While i have respect for this kind of actions (I especially like that people even stopped cars and stood to pay respects) I really hate that they are using emergency sirens for it.

I am from Poland and it is used for plethora of memorial events (like Warsaw Uprising) and it drives me nuts. If I would be one that will attack Poland, I would just wait for another of those events and start airstrikes just then to use those sirens as element of surprise.

    Sorry, I had to vent.

  6. Amazing show of reverence from almost everyone.

    Bravo, Bulgaria!

  7. Conveniently skipping 100 years of history and hyperfocusing on this.

  8. theres even a town named after him, called Botevgrad. it was renamed after him in 1934.
