It’s Monday! How was the weekend? Any exciting plans for this week?
It’s my oldest cat’s birthday today so we will of course be celebrating in style with sardines for both four legged members of the household. I don’t understand how/why some humans eat sardines? Gross. If you’re one of the weirdos, help me understand.

My cat doesn’t like sardines, nor cat nip. Feels like she hasn’t read the How to Cat manual. I eat the sardines on her behalf, maybe I aspire to be a cat. Nom nom nom.
Thanks to the Blackwall Tunnel being closed southbound, and the Rotherhithe Tunnel closing intermittently to stop traffic building up in the tunnel, it took me over 3 hours to do a 30 minute journey yesterday and I’m still miffed about it.
We’re supposed to be having the garage roof done today so we spent all yesterday afternoon clearing the garage out. And now it’s raining!! I don’t expect they’ll come now. Also all my stuff is getting wet in the garden!
The plan is to fix the roof and then turn part of the garage into an office. Atm I get relegated to the dining table when my wife is also wfh because the office is very small. She’ll have the garage office and I’ll have the inside office. Eventually…

My cat is mardy because his usual selection of wet food, dry food and dreamies has been reduced to healthy dry food. Times are hard kitty!
Well I have three men chatting me up. Man one and two are making no effort at all to get to know me. Man three has behaved badly in the past but is love bombing me and showering me with gifts. What to do?
I’ve made the executive decision to wfh today, due to back to back calls in my calendar (from 9 to 4 with no real breaks) and the fact that my IBS is still niggling to a point where I’m not comfortable with using loos where I might need to queue.
I’m not keen on Sardines as they come, but a nice sardine pate is lovely!
Working from home for the first time in years, but I’m on leave tomorrow, and my manager is somewhere in Central America, so after the 10am Teams meeting I’m going for a run, and after lunch I’m going to head to the hills just south of here to say Hello to the Highland coos, in the last sunshine we’re predicted to have for a week or so.
The baby was up 3 times through the night, and I’ve got to drive across to Lincolnshire within the hour. So shite so far.
Beach day! It’s the last day off before school starts again so we are going to spend the day by the sea- weather be damned we are going to go have fun catching crabs and digging inn the sand.
Spent yesterday at the laundrette drying 6 loads of washing as my tumble dryer broke. Fixing it can wait until later in the week.
Got an IOSH course today. Fun times.
Back to work. Yay. 7 weeks until the end of term and it’s going to drag!

Mine was sick in the night, and I didn’t hear him, so that was a horrible surprise when I got up.
I’m going over to my mum’s later to do her housework.
Cat related! We have a brand new [tiny cat](https://i.imgur.com/6cpqmTw.jpg) – someone found it on a road near us but they couldn’t look over it so we have taken it on. It is maybe just over two weeks, less than 200 grams and only just opened their eyes. So feeding every 3 hours and we have to get it to a vet to get a once over. That and taking the dog to a training lesson..
I’m working 10 days in a row which started yesterday.
Woke up knackered. Off on a tip run, then work from noon until eight- still in the middle of training, but progressing to lates this week with the eye on running the lasts on Friday and Saturday so the padawan can see true carnage on the rails. Think I’m going to have to mainline caffeine to get through the day.
Starting a new job today, full on imposter syndrome incoming but the good news is they have me starting at 11am so short day for first day.
Work and hospital visits this week.
Last year we had a pair of robins decide to use our shed for nesting, which was cute but meant we couldn’t go in it at the height of summer, and everything was left covered in shit when they fledged.
I put an extra piece of wood to cover the space above the door to prevent it happening again, but sometimes the door sticks against it, leaving another gap. Guess who I saw hanging around the shed door this morning as I’m washing up at the kitchen window…
I have been up for 4 hours already and at work for 3.5. My day is done at 2pm and I am going to go crochet in the sun while listening to an audiobook. I also need to book a bunch of dudes to do work in my garden too. But pffffft.
It’s our busiest day of the month today, joy!
Sardines are lovely. Our cats do not like fish, however. One of them does go mad for Parma ham though.
Happy Birthday Kitty! My cat woke me up about 5am, followed by a young boy cat meowing in the garden, serenading another cat on the fence! My one isn’t a huge fish fan, neither am I. Those licky treats though? She goes bonkers for them!
