  1. >That morning the state Supreme Court — in a 4-3 ruling — rejected the Trump campaign’s attempt to throw out more than 200,000 votes. But Andrew Hitt says he and the other Republican electors met anyway to cast fake votes because he’d been told the Trump campaign would appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. Kenneth Chesebro, a pro-Trump attorney — who was an alleged architect of the fake electors plan — showed up to watch.

    >**Andrew Hitt:** We got specific advice from our lawyers that these documents were meaningless unless a court said they had meaning.

    >**Anderson Cooper:** You are deciding to sign this document as an elector, and getting the other electors to sign this document based on a court challenge that you yourself don’t believe has legitimacy.

    >**Andrew Hitt:** I wouldn’t say it doesn’t have legitimacy– that’s different than not personally agreeing with it.

    >**Anderson Cooper:** You personally don’t believe that legitimate votes by Wisconsin residents should be tossed out. And yet, you are signing a document in support of a lawsuit which is alleging just that.

    >**Andrew Hitt:** And if I didn’t do that, and the court did throw out those votes, it would have been solely my fault that Trump wouldn’t have won Wisconsin.

Uh oh, is somebody scared they might be next on the indictment list?

  2. How do you get tricked into signing a fake document? That’s not an accident.

  3. Ask them if they renounce Trump now. See how quick they turn violent. They aren’t regretful.

  4. Someone else has said it already, but how do you get “Tricked” into signing fake documents? It feels like he’s not being 100% truthful. Then again, Trump had/has steadfastly refused to accept the result of the 2020 election.

  5. He still did it, he knew it was wrong and did it anyway, zero sympathy..

  6. Regretful after seeing people indicted in Arizona and Michigan.

  7. All of these documents are “you’re liable for criminal charges if what is written within is not accurate to the best of your knowledge”.

This is absurd and this guy should be in deep fuckin shit. He signed something that he knew was not accurate.

  8. Wait, the State Supreme Court was a single vote away from nullifying the Wisconsin voters?

    What the actual?

  9. Also… Complete bullshit “Oh, I was scared for myself and for my family, so I signed on.” WHY THE FUCK IS ANYONE IN THE GOP SUPPORTING THIS ORANGE ASSHOLE?

  10. >Andrew Hitt: It was not a safe time. If my lawyer is right, and the whole reason Trump loses Wisconsin is because of me, I would be scared to death.

    >Anderson Cooper: Signing legal documents of such consequence that you don’t believe in and you don’t believe the underlying reason for the documents, it’s– I mean, it’s not exactly a profile in courage.

    >Andrew Hitt: No.

  11. Republican politics has been about “fake it till you make it” for decades.

  12. Let me guess, he will still vote for Trump again

It would be in line with this truly bizarre phenomenon of republican masochism, where being publicly humiliated, defamed and bullied, having to demean themselves to appease whatever stupid narrative is being pushed, or straight up being baited into acting as cannon fodder risking their livelihood or actual lives to take part in some insane criminal schemes seems to more often than not strengthen their commitment to the cause, which is to re-elect this fat orange moron who at the end of the day still couldn’t give less of a fuck about any of these people.

  13. He was tricked? Oh I see, he admits he’s an idiot and also that he supports the GOP?

  14. “I was tricked” means “I was stupid”

This is the new “I was just following orders”

  15. That’s not being tricked – that’s being complicit.

  16. They tricked him by telling him they’d get away with it.

  17. So he is confessing that he is an idiot, surrounded by a bunch of lying, corrupt and criminal Republicans? Is he staying in the party? And, he is fully cooperating with all legal authorities to convict the bastards?

  18. Aside from being white and conservative, why are these asshats not sitting behind bars?

  19. He’s upset he was caught and left holding the bag, while others got away with it.

  20. Bullshit he was “tricked”. This is a re-up of an older article where this spineless prick said the same thing:

    >Anderson Cooper: You are deciding to sign this document as an elector, and getting the other electors to sign this document based on a court challenge that you yourself don’t believe has legitimacy.

    >Andrew Hitt: I wouldn’t say it doesn’t have legitimacy– that’s different than not personally agreeing with it.

    >Anderson Cooper: You personally don’t believe that legitimate votes by Wisconsin residents should be tossed out. And yet, you are signing a document in support of a lawsuit which is alleging just that.

    >Andrew Hitt: And if I didn’t do that, and the court did throw out those votes, it would have been solely my fault that Trump wouldn’t have won Wisconsin.

    >DONALD TRUMP: Ah, beautiful kids Andrew. Good. Good. I’m going to blame you Andrew if they don’t do it.

    >Andrew Hitt: Can you imagine the repercussions on myself, my family, if it was me, Andrew Hitt, who prevented Donald Trump from winning Wisconsin.

    >Anderson Cooper: You’re saying you were scared?

    >Andrew Hitt: Absolutely.

    >Anderson Cooper: Scared of Trump supporters in your state?

    >Andrew Hitt: It was not a safe time. If my lawyer is right, and the whole reason Trump loses Wisconsin is because of me, I would be scared to death.

That’s not tricking. That’s being threatened. The “tricked” part is him justifying his own cowardice.

Dude might have more credibility to say he was legitimately afraid, but he keeps talking out of both sides of his mouth, often at the same time. He’s tricked. He’s scared. He doesn’t agree with the document he signed. He doesn’t think there was fraud. But there might be. But a lawyer told him it was ok. But maybe a judge will agree. But also he’s scared!

Fuck this guy. He’s been singing the same bullshit for months to the media. No way he’s a reliable enough witness to flip. Prosecute him.

  21. I wish Cooper had asked him who he plans to vote for. That’s how you find out how “regretful” the guy really is.

  22. Ace Rothstein : Listen, if you didn’t know you were being scammed you’re too fuckin’ dumb to keep this job, if you did know, you were in on it. Either way, YOU’RE OUT!

  23. Republican co-conspirators be like:

    > Your honor, I’m clearly not guilty due to *ignorance of the law.*

  24. Tricked? He was an attorney and senior counsel at Michael Best and Friedrich law firm. He knew exactly what was being asked of him and he was OK with it.

  25. BS.

Do you still support Trump and MAGA?

    If so, get tossed.

  26. Oh, ok – then testify on who tricked you!

And publicly renounce Trump and his fake elector attempts.

Yeah, not going to happen… jackass.

  27. The guy wasn’t tricked. He is too much of a coward to own up to his crimes

  28. If Donald Trump “tricked” you, then you aren’t to be trusted whatsoever with the fate of our nation in any capacity.

Donald Trump looked up at an active eclipse without any eye protection.

    Twice.

His second look up, after hearing EVERYONE around him shout at him to put the glasses on, he decided to smile and point.

Like a toddler. If THAT guy tricked you, then get the fuck AWAY from anything involving the fate of anything.

  29. He must be a terrible lawyer. At the very least he should lose his license to practice law. I don’t believe he did not understand what he was doing.

  30. Fuck him and every elector that claims they were deceived. They knew what they were doing. They thought either Trump would pull off a coup or they could manipulate the situation for their own benefit.
