  1. The “Wilf Slide” sounds like some newly discovered phenomenon in an esoteric area (like economics, or political alignment theory)

Ah, more people than usual are selling pork futures.
This could lead the market into a Wilf Slide, which may not stabilise for 18 months.

    Disclaimer: Been drinking.

  2. Apologies.

Here be the original article from Ben Riley-Smith and Tony Diver of The Telegraph:

  3. I’m a civil servant and after the Duke of Edinburgh died we were not allowed to put any general communications out (that we do as part of the running of our department), this included advertising any jobs. Apparently it would be disrespectful until after the funeral. This on the other hand all fine…

  4. Having a party the day before Phillips funeral isn’t the disrespectful thing, the problem is doing it when its illegal and you set those rules.

If it helps get the royalists riled up against the conservatives then I guess it’s good, but I wish people would be angry at the right thing here. It’s always going to be some guys funeral the day after, there’s multiple per day.

  5. Australian here

Aren’t the people all in line to replace Boris, orders of magnitude worse than him?

Is the media trying to get him booted and replaced for some agenda of some sort?

  6. Stop holding the Queen up as some kind of higher moral authority. Enough families had to say goodbye to their grandparents, parents and partners without worrying about Elizabeth “world’s most privileged pensioner” Windsor.
