  1. Hungary blocks almost 50% of all proposals in the EU, openly sides with putin – and will take over the EU presidency next month.

‘Belgium, which currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU, is calling on EU member states to consider the possibility of revoking Hungary’s voting rights.

Belgium’s Foreign Minister Aja Lyabib has proposed a motion of censure against Budapest under Article 7 of the EU Treaty. This drastic measure could lead to Hungary’s voting rights in the EU being suspended.

The concern is all the greater as Hungary will take over the EU presidency next month. This would give Budapest more influence in setting the agenda and priorities for the next six months, despite Prime Minister Orbán repeatedly obstructing EU decision-making on critical issues.’ United24

  2. As a non-European, and someone who doesn’t follow European law/politics, can someone explain to me how influential this would be? Obviously, Hungary in any position of power is bad.

  3. This has been going on for 10 years. Just talk and nothing will change also this time.

  4. And Rheinmetall work together with hungary at the new Puma MBT, it takes most of the research costs and will buy it.. its like give the technology direct to putin..

  5. I am absolutely fine with revoking any and all Hungary’s voting rights

  6. They’re prorussia, traitors of EU and spies, they should be treated as such!

  7. 1 month left in their presidency and NOW they are talking about this?

  8. Hungary as EU PM and Donald as US president – all going to Putins plan

  9. Hungary is a nasty cancer to democracy, they need to be removed any and all voting rights within the EU.

  10. There’s no reason why this can’t be done. The EU is democratic so one member shouldn’t be able to veto the aims of the majority. If there’s currently no mechanism to deal with Hungary, propose one, vote on it, if the majority agree adopt the proposal.
