If we do ever manage to get to 1:1, it’s obvious that we would rather prioritize buying Mendes’, Zahavi or Andre Curry clients over prioritizing the needs of the squad.
As I’ve said from Day 1, Guido Rodriguez will be the big DM signing, Felix on another loan will be treated as a ‘new winger’ signing or perhaps another Mendes client that I am not aware of.
In other words…another shit season.
And what i feared was the true reason for xavis sacking has come out. The board and laporta knew they would look bad if xavi wanted signings and didn’t get them and made a lot of noise about not getting them. They knew they wouldn’t be able to sign anyone so they found a yes man who claims he’s already happy with the current squad and wil say anything they want to get the job.

Honestly its a good thing. Id rather take a bad season and let the massive contracts run out knowing that we couldn’t sell those players any way.
Rushing to buy overpriced players we can’t afford right now doesn’t help anyone and if we sell cornerstone players to get them its even worse. If we make another coutinho/dembele/griezmann signing to compete with madrid its gonna ruin the club for the next decade.
We are in the worst possible spot a club can be in. We are stuck in between a rebuild and trying to add world class talent. We don’t have a project, we have one striker and some of our best players are past their primes.
I try not to compare but if the team that beat us by 15 points is adding one of the best LBs and the best overall player without losing much, and we are stuck adding free dudes like Guido, what are we really doing? Kinda feels like the perfect time to just sell off some high wage guys and continue to let the academy build the first team, at least until we are actually financially viable.
Dang, somehow every time I open the Barca subreddit all I see is negativity, pessimism, drama and what not. I’m an overall optimistic person so maybe that’s on me, but why don’t we all just calm down and have good, but also realistic expectations for the upcoming season? I know they burned down the kitchen more then once in the past but:
