It is a shame when tories run on a platform that they are good for the economy.
All the benefits of the free market are eroded once you start crony capitalism.
“It would be worse under Labour”
Is the only phrase morons need.
Itll be very difficult for the split left to beat the torys especially when the £££££ is pumped into the propaganda.
Tory austerity has caused a lost decade, but apparently Labour austerity (which is what Reeves offers with her fiscal rules) will make everything better.
Vote Labour for more of the same.
Funny how they still periodically bring up the ‘Labour ruined the economy’ spiel. But that was 12 long, long years ago. The Tories have been in power since 2010.
Imagine if you, in your job, tried to blame your poor performance on someone who used to work there 12 years ago. You’d get laughed out of the building.
Saddest thing though is that some voters seem to believe the nonsense Tory propaganda.
like arch austerity hawk revees is going to make things any better for the poor in this country.
labour has no ideas, no policies, it just has flags and soundbites. depressing.
The Tories record on the economy is only good if you’re literally in the top 0.1% economic bracket.
Was she visiting their new constituency of Bury South, which they didn’t win recently?
If you think labour are any less awful, you need your fucking head checking.
supporting corbyn would have stopped that from happening
Next decade is lost no matter what any politician tries to do about it – the Rona deficit has to come down at some point
Yes, but still not worth voting labour.
Not voting Tories either. Or Libdems.
We need a good alternative.
The economic aspect of Tory rule is such an interesting topic. Their overall approach of quantity over quality and preoccupation with statistical metrics they can use to reinforce their ideas…it’s all interesting. I’m too lefty for that though. I understand there are nice big positive numbers they can trot out to show economic improvements but in reality a number on a page does not equate to the health of the society we are a part of. Funding grassroot support, benefits and public sector stuff can be a negative expenditure sure but those things are more important than dogmatically pursuing the improvement of our overall economy by a fraction of a percent.
Who else can we choose? I don’t want Marxist labour in power either.
Right is that why majority of you invested in free market
Yeah but Labour also look to inherit an entirely doomed situation if they win the next general election, let alone the fact the tories seem to be proactively going out of their way to make things work, honestly if I was them I would leave it to the tories, let them thoroughly prove how incompetent they are with power so that labour can actually keep power for more than one term.
We’re in a situation in this country where whichever way we vote, we’re screwed.
The Tories have bungled the pandemic at every turn, and have more or less laughed in the face of the everyman throughout. Boris is completely out of touch with the people, and he’s not the worst Tory for that either…. Rees-Mogg for example. I can’t think of a single Tory that’s fit to lead the party, and especially not the country.
Labour have done nothing but take every opportunity for political point scoring throughout, and Starmer has two tricks, he either agrees with the Tories in parliament then gets outraged when it backfires (see pretty much any restriction lifting throughout the pandemic) or sits on the fence, then when it backfires basically just says he would have done the opposite of whatever went wrong. He has no charisma and also, isn’t leadership material.
Lib Dems have become a joke party, and the other parties beyond that aren’t even worth mentioning.
There just aren’t any good options.
Communism is great in the leafy halls of university but at some point someone will have to swing a shovel.
At nearly 40, having lived through the Blair era, the coalition and the current run of brutal Tory ineptitude, it seems painfully obvious that the Tories are ruinous for the economy. And everything else.
Socialism please, not just management of the fucking economy. The power in our hands. The working class in the driving seat. You rich career suits don’t deserve to win anything.
