Might be cope but I think this is extreme spin. Davies’ agent might have re-started conversations with Bayern once Kompany was named but I don’t think there’s anything more than that to it.
Ultimately, keeping Davies isn’t the worst thing in the world… he *is* very young and does have plenty of runway ahead of him, but I think he is going to Madrid and everyone will be satisfied with the outcome.

I hope he leaves, I think his performances, especially on the defensive side of things have been even below average, and as a winger, he’s had some spectacular moments, but those have been more the exception than the rule. I think he hasn’t improved at all despite having 4 different managers, so for me he’s stagnated, and his biggest attribute, pace, will decline with age and inevitably, injuries.
