‘Teenage Dad’s Army’: Starmer dismisses PM’s national service policy

a clear Direction not the endless spinning around that successive Tory governments have subjected us all to the prime minister with a new plan every week a new strategy every month at this rate a new election campaign every day I’m not joking all this spinning round and round it’s symbolic of the chaos and the instability you’ve seen that again over the past few days that the desperation of this national service policy that’s s teenage Dad’s Army paid for paper I kid you not by canceling leveling up funding and money from tax avoidance that we would use to invest in our NHS now all elections are a choice and this is a clear one leveling up on the NHS with labor or more desperate chaos with the for is that is the choice [Applause]

The Labour leader has called Rishi Sunak’s policy to introduce a form of mandatory national service requiring 18-year-olds to either join the military for 12 months or undertake weekend volunteer work ‘desperate’, adding that it would create a ‘teenage Dad’s Army’.

  1. You know the situation is clear when the campaign slogan is simply 'change'. Stating the obvious with no need for any substance, positive or negative. Basically, it's saying "not those guys".

  2. What 🤣 labor honestly people do More of the same old stuff . I think its a brilliant idea what it brings to mindset and skill set of younger generation

  3. All Labour have to do is go hard against this national service policy and they will win a bucket load of new voters they wouldn't have got before.
