2. I appreciate the work that the likes of him and Romano do, but they have completely killed the excitement of some things around football! Instead of finding out when it’s officially announced, by then all of us will know the squad anyway.

4. Super fine margins due to an elite generation of midfielders. To the point where you could easily blame his injury taking him out of the running.

   I’ve long thought the England squad should be picked by recent performance alone, so I’m not going to be a homer about this. Gutted for him nonetheless.
