The United Kingdom joins the countries that are experiencing reduced working hours

  1. I can see the 4 working day scheme have it’s share of problems. One being meeting deadlines. Targets would have to be met sooner – indirectly equating to more mentally intensive work during the 106 hours. Two, we could see employers being the only ones ‘relaxing’ on Fridays while everyone down the hierarchy chart continue to labour. Third, this is going to be a challenge for firms that have international customers. The latter wouldn’t care if UK firms are unable to deliver because they have less working days. This severely impacts competitiveness. Would be an interesting trial though, looking forward to it.
