[1 in 10 women who cycle in London have experienced abuse](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT16B1xu3LA) – although urban cycling (not sports cycling), there is something about road ragers and attacking women.
Why am I not surprised they turned around to abuse her after knocking her off
What kind of monster does that…oh yeah, a 4×4 driver
That’s nuts though, terrible
Impeding and potentially damaging a 4×4 with her bike?
That’s worth at least 8 years prison per the Daily Mail.
I think this provides a good example as to why cyclists need to dismount or slow down and go to the side of the road to allow clear and safe overtaking. Especially, when they are on smaller tracks or country roads.
I’m in no way defending the actions of the driver, who overtook on a bend which is clearly dangerous driving. However, if it came common practice for cyclists to get out of the way, I think would prevent a lot of accidents from happening as we have a very large portion of drivers who will drive dangerously as they are not the ones at risk.
Its no different from driving 50 in the fast lane of a motorway. It causes problems by impeding traffic, and people are not able to wait. I see the exact same problem when on the motorway artics which are limited to 60 try and overtake each other. (this also needlessly causes congestion).
