  1. Absolute garbage. Political bullshit by weak cowards who don’t want to fully support Ukraine.

Anybody who even remotely understands the Putin regime knows that Putin is not interested
In long term peace only short term ceasefires and “peace process” to regroup and go on the attack again.

Putins imperialist invasions will not stop until they are stopped by force.

  2. Peace initiatives are all fine and good for headlines but the only initiative that will end this war is the one that contains the fall of the Russian Empire once and for all.

  3. Europe has to put its foot down on this one.

It is not up to countries on the other side of the globe to decide what is right for Ukraine or Europe. End of the story.

France, UK, Germany, Poland and other staunch supporters of Ukrainian freedom have to finally tell Brics to fuck off and come back after they get their own countries sorted out.

As for Switzerland, the EU has to end its fiscal paradise status they have been enjoying since the Nazi decided to use them as their private bankers.

  4. Peace summit itself is stupid. Russia doesn’t want peace. So what’s the point in deciding anything that won’t come through?

  5. *Irrelevant countries promote something nobody relevant would accept.*

In term of non-event it’s quite high up there. These countries have the soft and hard power of a tainted oyster.

The only 2 entities that could force Ukraine into ~~surrendering~~ peace treaty are the EU and the US.

  6. Fuck Switzerland. Seriously. I wonder how fucking “neutral” they would be if they weren’t hiding behind a wall of NATO countries.

  7. It’s not a peace summit. It’s a formula for capitulation. Fuck that.

  8. Peace summit with all globe representation is not a bright idea. It will backfire. Not sure what Zelenskiy is thinking.

  9. WTF Switzerland, it’s not YOUR Peace Plan, you can’t just rewrite it.

  10. At some point we have to accept that quite often the global south, for lack of a better word, sucks.

  11. Well if the peace summit is so shit let’s give Ukraine the ability to settle it on the battle field! More aid, less restrictions.

  12. I mean, both Ukraine and Russia will have to agree to the same peace proposal, in the end. Which means that both sides, unless a total victory is achieved(that is most likely impossible for any side, at least at the moment), will have to negociate and make sacrifices and give up on some of their requests(the winning side ceding less than the other), territory included. Or freeze the conflict

  13. Why doesn’t Ukrain just pull out of the summit? That would make it useless. In 1 or 2 months there will be another country prepared to host one.

  14. Wait, global South? i’m pretty sure the argentinian position is fuck Putin.

  15. Quite a bit of orc-influence still in the Southern hemispheredue to a past of American meddling, and USSR/Russia happily delivering their weaponry to countless rebel/terrorist groups in those regions to mess with the West, that’s for sure. Switzerland should shut up. Their mountains will only protect them só much in modern warfare. They should get a dose of reality instilled. Buuuutt.. I guess the vast amounts of orc oligarch money in Swiss vaults, play a significant part too.

But hey man, that’s only, like, my opinion…

  16. So, Switzerland basically says it is okay to reward murders, rape, pillaging, kidnappings, torture, more rape, more kidnappings and gods know what else. Stay classy you spineless dumbfucks.

  17. The only people that should be able to set the terms of peace are the Ukrainians. They are the ones who suffer every day and understand what they want in return for peace. This was Zelenskyy’s ten point plan as of 2023

    1. Radiation and nuclear safety, focusing on restoring safety around Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine, which is now-Russian occupied.
    2. Food security, including protecting and ensuring Ukraine’s grain exports to the world’s poorest nations.
    3. Energy security, with focus on price restrictions on Russian energy resources, as well as aiding Ukraine with restoring its power infrastructure, half of which has been damaged by Russian attacks.
    4. Release of all prisoners and deportees, including war prisoners and children deported to Russia.
    5. Restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity and Russia reaffirming it according the U.N. Charter, which Zelenskiy said is “not up to negotiations”.
    6. Withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities, restoration of Ukraine’s state borders with Russia.
    7. Justice, including the establishment of a special tribunal to prosecute Russian war crimes.
    8. Prevention of ecocide, need for protection of environment, with focus on demining and restoring water treatment facilities.
    9. Prevention of escalation of conflict, and building security architecture in the Euro-Atlantic space, including guarantees for Ukraine.
    10. Confirmation of the war’s end, including a document signed by the involved parties.

None of this is out of line by any means I see no reason for any of this to change.

  18. The whole point about a peace summit is to bring participates to the table and negotiate and find a solution to end the war. It’ s not an Ukraine promo event to gain support. And also not a wish whatever event. If Ukraine doesn’t want peace it simply should continue the war until it’s strategic goals are met or it is in a strong position to negotiate.

But you can’t talk about peace and say that you want to have all your territory back and join NATO. These options are realistic if you have the territory under control and your enemy is militarily and economically destroyed.

Diplomacy isn’t about delivering “justice” and peace summits are not for people that think peace is achieved when they have won. While we can hate here on social media about Switzerland, under diplomatic circles it is well appreciated, because if germany or any other european country would have done it, it would look like dwindling support for Ukraine.

Because one thing needs to be clear, the global south does give fuck about Ukraine as we do not give a fuck about African conflicts. So they do not choose sides and want to have all options open, as long the trade routes are open they are happy.

like it or not but realistically the peace summit is more doomed if you only take the Ukrainian view point into consideration.

  19. You are kidding me. I read the article.
No no no. Russia must be destroyed, become a parish, exiled, sanctioned, you hear the word “russian” and you know its association with filth.
I watched yesterday Equalizer movie. Do the same with russia on political stage.

Peace summit’s purpose is to make sure that countries who participated left a trace in history.
If they do negatively, you will be described as evil in history books or on wikipedia page.

This world is becoming more and more miserable. Lucky ones can live birnally, but percentage is only decreasing (IMHO)

  20. Switzerland live by laundering drug money, stolen money of oligarchs and buying illegal gold from Africa and Brazil. They can go and completely fuck themselves.
P.S, I ain’t buying one of their fucked up knives as a protest. That’ll teach them.

  21. Cursorily reading, I get the impression that they’re not at all against the Ukrainian position but that they’re trying to establish a common denominator to have that settled (and russia confined to this low degree, which would only work with strict checks, as we know from their history of conpliance with contracts and promises).

If I’m wrong, please let me where, seriously. Switzerland has been very clearly on the side of Ukraine, despite economic drawbacks, it seems to me.
