   A suspected terrorist triggered an improvised bomb in a Paris airport hotel room using “Mother of Satan” chemicals favoured by Islamic State (IS) bombers, it emerged on Wednesday.

   The 26-year-old Ukrainian-Russian, who has not been named, was in custody on Wednesday night following the explosion at Charles de Gaulle.

   He suffered severe burns to his face and arms after igniting Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP) in an £80-room at the B&B Hotel, within the perimeter of the airport, which is the largest in France.

   Details of the latest Paris blast were released on the day Joe Biden, the American president, flew into the French capital in time for [the D-Day 80th anniversary commemorations](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/06/06/d-day-landings-80th-anniversary-normandy-latest-news/).

   Other world leaders set to join Mr Biden and Emmanuel Macron, the French president, include the King and Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president.
