  4. I recall a similar incident in my childhood where a neighbor, a local politician of some note, publicly ate an American flag on his front lawn on July 4th. That certainly caused a stir—not sure if I’ve seen Alito eat a flag though I’m sure a judge of his jurisprudence would indeed be capable!

  13. Bit of clickbait headline, the neighbor said “at best misremembering, at worst outright lying.”

    But meat of the story for those who skipped it: neighbor says the verbal fight was mid-Feb ’21, but the flag photo was from mid-Jan, so Alito’s explanation doesn’t add up.

    Another reason why he was not in Bush’s first round picks, to be a justice. 
    Could Harriet Myers have been worse than alito. Seems very unlikely

  22. Can we blame bad actors like Alito, Thomas, Trump, etc., when we don’t have good laws and regulations in place that would prevent them from doing unethical things? 

    We don’t have any laws that prevent a convicted felon from running for President, and we can’t do anything about a SCOTUS that’s operating on some kind of Boy Scouts honor system when it comes to ethics. 

    It’s time for big changes, but how will we make this happen when one side doesn’t want to play along and too many people sit out elections while complaining on SM. 

  24. So Alito addressed it but what he said was an alleged lie. Subpoena time. Republicans will say all sorts of crazy shit but they already do so who cares.
    Just ask, what would the Republicans do if one of the liberal justices had done something like this and whatever the answer is is what Democrat should do
