Well damn TIL that whether you’re driving or on a buss your experience is dependent on the gradient of your skin colour. As your skin gets darker the road narrows and potholes appear/disappear accordingly.
Anyone sick and tired of everyone pointing to the ‘white male’ as some kind of boogie man, I’m not even white but I’m sick of it.

The greens could do with hiring, like, a normal person. About £32k a year or something.
They will simply read out their policies and statements aloud to this person, who will either raise a green flag for good, seems fine, or they will throw a bag of feathers and a bucket of tar, to signify they sound utterly insane and out of touch, go away and fix it.

I’m pretty sure if we had a functional public transport system, improving the roads would help just about anyone who would use a bus.
It’s a fact that wealthy people have higher rates of car ownership and drive more mileage so disproportionately benefit from investment in roads.
Bringing race and gender into it isn’t going to help anyone it just makes it easier for people to dismiss your position and guarantees the discussion devolves into petty argument.

So Maggie Chapman seems to be saying that poorer people, women and ethnic minorities disprortionate don’t use roads between cities.
So money might be better spent elsewhere.
There might be some truth in that. Scottland is a predominately white country and poorer people probably take shorter journeys more often. I’m not sure why women wouldn’t use inter-city roads in theory but perhaps that is a trend due to common family living patterns.
But it still seems to miss the point that disadvantaged people who rely on those roads in rural areas are probably disproportionate impacted by their low quality. And lots of women who don’t personally use those roads do still rely on a man that does for their income.
The Scottish Greens proving what clowns they are and one of the reasons why I had such a big grin on my face when the bute agreement got shat on.
Come on.. I actually want to vote for you, I even agree with public transport and bike lanes over cars. But then you come out with shit like this.

I’ve met a few Green party candidates in the past (90s and early 2010s), they mostly seemed like out of touch, middle class, hippy-dippy types. Genuinely nice people but a bit dim.
