Due to the tragic death recently when a Spitfire crashed, I thought all veteran aircraft flying f was stopped.
It was mentioned on the BBC D-Day coverage this morning there wasn’t going to be the planned fly past
It’s actually a Spanish plane built in 1959 that looks the same as the BF-109 – [https://www.aircraftrestorationcompany.com/hispano-buchon](https://www.aircraftrestorationcompany.com/hispano-buchon) – but with a Merlin engine. And for several thousand quid you can fly in a two seat Spitfire and pretend to dogfight the Buchon, based out of Duxford.
