Elections Matter. Just Look at Wisconsin. | There are now five states in which state prosecutors have brought charges in the fake-electors scheme, and as these prosecutions go forward, it’s going to become plain that the fake-electors scheme was a national conspiracy.

  1. It’s beyond disappointing that the DOJ failed to act in these cases. Glad the states are seeking accountability.

  2. Was? WAS? It hasn’t stopped and all signs point to them attempting mostly the same play again this year but with more people in positions to facilitate it.

  3. This was the best, the biggest conspiracy ever. People come to me with tears in their eyes saying they can’t believe how far reaching this beautiful conspiracy was.

  4. It’s already plain that it was a National Conspiracy, just as it is plain that Merrick Garland is protecting the Conspirators as if they were his own children.

  5. I honestly think these state cases will shift more voters away from Trump than Trump’s conviction and remaining indictments. Seeing the conspiracy closer home will hit different in my opinion. Props to the prosecutors.

  6. Of course it was a national conspiracy. Republicans in multiple different states didn’t just come up with identical unprecedented plans independently.

It was organized. The fake electors, the lawsuits, Jan 6, all of it, as a coordinated attempt to bypass our democracy and install Trump for another 4 years, regardless of the will of the people. The basic plan was to throw as much shit at the democratic process as possible. To cause confusion and chaos. Get Republican-controlled states that went for Biden to send an “alternate” (really: *fake*) set of electors to send to Washington and present themselves alongside the real ones. Get sympathetic Republicans (really: nearly all of them) to go along with it and present the charade as something to be taken seriously. Get Trump to whip up an angry mob of “protestors” who were imbedded with people from the more organized white supremacy groups (and who we know met with Trump’s people previously) to turn them toward storming the Capitol. Storm the Capitol. Have multiple senators and congress-critters on the inside saying “we should hear these people out, they have a point.”

All of the above has been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt, both by the Jan 6 commission and by good investigative reporting.

The goal was obvious: delay the certification of the vote. They’ve stated as much.

What does that buy them? It kicks the can down the road. Jan 20, the day where the new President is supposed to be sworn in, is fast approaching, except no official vote of the electoral has yet been certified. Now it’s a full-blown constitutional crisis. SCOTUS steps in. They’d almost certainly rule in a 6-3 vote along ideological lines that the legal tangle that’s been created can’t possibly be resolved in time to appoint a new President. So they rule that the 12th Amendment clause kicks in an that congress has to hold an immediate secondary vote. That vote would go to Trump, because it’s one-state-one-vote determined by a majority of congressional representatives from that state.

Worst part is it would be *technically* constitutional, far moreso than the 2000 abomination. Everything through the end of the 2nd paragraph above is super-mega-turbo-illegal, but everything past it? Probably actually true, according to the strict letter of the law.

I think most people don’t understand how close they came to succeeding. If Pence plays ball, all bets are off. If the mob succeeds in assassinating Pence (and make no mistake, they *would* have killed him had they gotten their hands on him), all bets are off. Just because the rioters themselves were a bunch of yahoos doesn’t mean they weren’t being deployed in a direction that could have yielded fruit.

  7. Yet all the chief conspirators are untouchable.

  8. I think an important takeaway from this article is that what’s being done at the local level is often more impactful than anything else. Republicans realize this and that’s why they’re packing local school boards and city/county level positions. I realize courts are a different animal altogether but local judges are elected, and often use that as a stepping stone to higher positions. I think if the Democrats want to make inroads against gerrymandering then they need to play the same local long game.

  9. Did he try and steal the election by rigging it? Somehow that sounds familiar

  10. No no no you see…its all part of the conspiracy!

The state prosecutors in Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New York/Manhattan, are all working with Jack Smith, who is working with E. Jean Carroll’s attorneys, along with the 30+ other women he assaulted, who are working in conjunction with the media, who also worked with all the state election officials and judges that certified the 2020 election. All of this is being done under the command of the demented and feeble Joe Biden! They are all working together to cover up the fact that the election was stolen! Its so obvious! All of these unrelated bodies at various levels of government and the private citizenry can’t be trusted! Only the you’re fired guy from TV can be trusted to tell the truth!

    /S

Like seriously trump supporters, how goddamn stupid can you guys possibly be? Is it really that hard to believe that maybe just maybe the dude who brags about sexual assault is just a bad dude?

  11. And the revelation won’t make a bit of difference to the MAGA cult.

  12. That kind of thing is almost like the ‘Deep State’ that DJT is always harping on.

  13. Does not matter as on some pretext or the other, the cases will be stalled.

  14. The left has proven to be too weak to combat this. Time is ticking, do you all have your passports?

  15. Why Trump isn’t in prison for all this OBVIOUS CRIME and CONSPIRACY….. ugh.. I look at Trump the same way I looked at Osama Bin Laden. He’s a terrorist and a Russian asset. Put and end to Trump, put him in prison.

  16. Luckily they all received slaps on the wrists for trying to overthrow the government and had to write apology letters saying they won’t do it again.

  17. And the nation leader of that is Leonard Leo who has refused a congressional subpoena to testify. He needs to be arrested and locked up

  18. If Trumpie-poop succeeded, you can bet he would have arranged more crimes to ensure he’d not leave the white house this November. Or ever for that matter. Super scary.

  19. Yeah, no fucking shit. That was obvious.

The problem is that nobody seems to really care all that much.

  20. Any none have been held accountable for it. Fucking maga supreme court is a pile of shit as well.

  21. We already knew it was a national conspiracy. One of his indictments has a massive play-by-play timeline of Trump and his team organizing the national conspiracy.

They have emails, text messages, witness accounts and more.

The only reason it’s not playing to everyone that it was a national conspiracy is that the media just sort of blew past that without getting into it
