So much of our public service administration is a complete shit show!
They’ve been completely found wanting in times they need to get the finger out
Oof a day before the elections. They knew about this from last year and only moving on it now.
This is one of the items that creates a very easy target for those against immigration. It’s not a big item but another cut.
Non Irish citizens should not be entitled to any state provided unemployment benefits or housing support. I live in Denmark and this is the reality for me, either support myself or fuck off home.
How can any politician involved with this disasterous immigration project not feel totally ashamed of themselves?
From reading the article it sounds like this wasn’t an error, just that there was no means test previously. And now there is.
Indo continues to be a rag.
“asylum-seekers”
I’m fine with immigration, but when the state (in the form of an uninformed Intreo clerk) made an error in handling my sign off JSA, I had to pay 2 weeks to them… they absolutely should have to pay this back, even if it is via a payment plan over time
Try it sometime.
And this is how a country won’t improve infrastructure, medical services, schools, Garda and so on – we are a social welfare state. Country just burning through the money like it’s nothing.
I wonder why we’re seeing such anger in society towards immigration currently….must just be that everyone is more racist now all of a sudden
Lol
Just imagine how much of our taxes are wasted.

We can all expect big tax cuts with that €11m saving next year. They need to start charging them for any accommodation and food provided to them also. Means test medical cards too.
Know of a gang of Georgian lads working on building sites clearing nearly 1k a week. Living in state provided accom and not a bill to be paid. Nice for some.
Government – incompetent.
Far right – more ammunition to use against foreigners.
And some people do not see the correlation there?
Why are asylum seekers from the likes of Nigeria (a democracy with a GDP per capita €2000) entitled to any state support at all?
If you can afford to travel through the rest of Europe to get here, you should have sufficient means.
I’ll cut some slack for a North Korean who will have a genuine asylum claim at least… Not that we get any.

This will be conveniently forgotten about I’m sure
While it’s €38 week you still shouldn’t receive it if you’re working.
Must be very nice for these companies to have their employees salaries subsidised by the government.
Make no mistake about it, that’s exactly why this was done and the SW department has been doing dodgy shit like this for a loooooooooong time.
I’ve heard of situations where IPAS applicants have being approved to stay in the country but are still living in their state provided accommodation two years after being approved. If you’re getting hand outs with no strings attached sure why not?
Over 100,000 Irish citizens taking cash for work and abusing the system, the same people are outraged that other people abuse the system, this abuse is only ethical if you are white.
Sign me up!
And yet some people want us to pay even more tax. The waste that goes on at the moment, it’s never-ending.
