Hey, I wrote here a few days ago about a problem I have with the Beitragsservice. I thought at first the problem was that I didn't register myself correctly, but I found out that my WG's Rundfunkbeitrag was left unpaid because the guy I replaced in the apartment used to pay it and nobody kept track of it. We all have been using his number months after he moved out, and as a result our apartment was completely unpaid.
What I'd like to know is if we got a fine, or if this is just a demand for payment. I am unsure since the demand for payment is double what we were supposed to pay. My German is just poor, and I don't want to confront anyone about this before I understand the situation.

The letter says that you have an unpaid balance for january to march that’s 55€. Now it’s three months later so another 55€ for 110€ total.
You not fined yet. But you have to backpay the outstanding sum.
