Not blaming them. You do what you can to get more publicity.
Someone on r/book commented:
“As the saying goes behind every great woman is 3 men pretending to be her.”
> Their lead character in the Carmen Mola novels is detective Elena Blanco, a “peculiar and solitary woman, who loves grappa, karaoke, classic cars and sex in SUVs”
and nobody suspected a thing 😀
but all it took for the mysterious author to make an appearance was an offer of money 😀
Those men are there of the most important screenwriters in Spanish TV right now.
“The men had published under the pseudonym Carmen Mola, which roughly translates as “Carmen’s cool”.”
Mola is a surname, not so common but it exists.
I expect r/menwhowritewomen to lose their collective shit over this.
A different kind of gender reveal.
Omniman voice… “look what they have to do to mimic a fraction of our power”
This is getting out of hand, now there are three of them.
Paradoxically, complaining about this would mean conceding there’s a bias in favor of women
Spain has a literary prize that awards the winner ONE MILLION euro? I’m going to write some stuff and Google translate that into Spanish pronto.
Aren’t a bunch of feminists upset at this? I remember reading that reviews of their books “captured the essence of the female perspective” or something like that
Anyone else reminded of the scene in Blackadder where he Jane Austen as a Burly Yorkshire man, with beard like a rhododendron bush?
Inb4: “And they’re only now saying that their female characters sucked and were /r/menwritingwomen”
As a woman I really dont get what the fuss is all about. Maybe its sad people pretend to be someone else but thats mainly a consequence of capitalism if we are honest
Shouldn’t a work of fiction be exactly that?
If this doesn’t result in a “of course it takes three men to do the work of one woman” joke, I’m going to be disappointed! 🙂
based beyond imagination
When women don’t like their privileges to be exposed……….
This was locked in r/books for some reason
Ok, what pronoun is this now?
Just wait til the Elena Ferrante cover breaks :S
This just reminds me of the Blackadder 3 episode where he adopts a female writing name to get published as he’s convinced Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters were actually men posing as women.
easier to get prices as a female writer. Good job guys. locked in r/books speaks for itself
AHAHAHAH hilarious, this is like in that movie when a woman had to make his husband sign her paintings, and now we’re going the opposite way! Yay, this sure is PROGRESS! EQUALITY! 😀
I guess we finally have an answer how many men takes to do woman’s job
Interestingly, one of my favourite authors (male) has been called “Three feminists in league with a demon”.
I don’t get why some people are upset by this. George Eliot was Mary Ann Evans’ nom de plume and the world didn’t end…
In a trench coat?
Three men? Sexist Guardian, they clearly identify as Carmen Mola.
Mother, father… I need to tell you something: I am not a woman. I am men
You mean man?
No, I am 3 men
If she wants to represent herself as one woman, saying “three men” is just rude.
Anything a woman can do three men can do better.
So, Patrick, would that kind of trinity count as Partialism? Transgenderism? Modalism? or what?

[Nope](https://smoda.elpais.com/feminismo/carmen-mola-lo-que-piensan-las-escritoras-de-los-hombres-que-no-escriben-bien-a-las-mujeres/amp/). Writer Rosa Montero and others have been calling it since 2018.
The whole Premio Planeta thing is rigged and a publicity stunt anyway, which is the real scandal imo.
