‘Real Danger’ of World War III?

[Music] as the verdict in president Trump’s trial was announced President Biden authorized Ukraine to use Us weapons for military strikes inside Russia this decision was made as NATO foreign ministers met in Geneva pledging to continue the struggle for as long as needed to help Ukraine defeat Russia is Europe heading for an escalation perhaps even World War II while joining us is Michael Waller senior strategy analyst of the center for security policy president of Georgetown research and author of big Intel how the CIA and FBI went from cold war heroes to deep State villains okay Michael what do you make of Biden’s decision is it good for Ukraine in the world or not this is a disaster it’s a real danger can you imagine if Vladimir Putin authorized proxy forces to fire russian-made missiles into the United States what are the consequences we we would we would have to retaliate right what what is Biden pushing us into this is insane I support Ukraine I support Ukraine’s right to fight and I supported arming Ukraine but I wanted a strategy the you can’t fight a war without a strategy and the Biden Administration has no strategy it’s just like send more money what you just had just a minute ago the the administration will NATO will spend whatever it takes for as long as it takes this is this is Vietnam nonsense this is crazy this is all protracted Warfare that democracies never win so we’re looking at escalation inevitably as a result of this um what do you think’s going to happen with this Michael nothing good Okay so we’ve got foreign ministers meeting in Geneva and they seem to suggest they’re also ready to bring Ukraine into NATO would that happen before the end of the war could it be a point of negotiation with Russia to end the conflict what are your thoughts this is making it even worse because first there’s been no National debate about expanding NATO to Ukraine right about putting our Continental Nation our our country on as a nuclear Target in defense of Ukraine this is insanity well I look the ukrainians are saying we need to do this so we can make Russia pay a price here sure that that’s fine let the ukrainians do it but this is not Ukraine’s not America Ukraine’s not a military ally we have no treaty commitments to Ukraine and we have no National consensus on where to go from here do we want to make every single American a Russian nuclear Target more than we already are because that’s what bringing Ukraine into NATO means it means defending our allies using our nuclear umbrella well is the plan here to bring them in at the end of the war or before the end of the war I don’t think there’s a plan this is all a a tail wagging the dog ever since before the Ukrainian Invasion remember Biden had no plan to deter Russia from invading he just wanted to cut and run right just like he did in Afghanistan he wanted to pull out the American Embassy he tried to get zelinsky’s government to flee his capital and turn Kiev into a free fire zone because he the United States the CIA of all places came up with the information that Russia would conquer Kiev in three or four days and zilinsky fooled Everybody by saying I don’t need a plane ticket out of here I’m gonna stay in fight and God bless him he’s put up a great fight but Ukraine is not the United States and Ukraine is not part of our Vital strategic interests like say the Mexican border is there’s nothing in this for us at all it’s a terrible danger how did this get to this point I know a lot of CIA analysts and they’ve been wrong for years they didn’t predict the end of the Soviet Union they didn’t predict the Soviet collapse a lot of friends of CBN did I remember uh Pat Robertson did I remember a lot of people on CBN years ago were predicting what the CIA did not predict so they’ve been wrong time and time and time again on big huge issues so I wouldn’t trust their analysis not not to mention weapons of mass destruction in Iraq right absolutely you you know the rise of communist China the rise of jihadist movements they were wrong on all of these things how is it that they get it so wrong Michael a lot of it’s group think a lot of the analysts are decent people but they’re not courageous thinkers bureaucracies don’t reward independent thinking you know the weather reports are far more accurate than any CIA analysis okay so what will need to happen to end this war because no one’s talking peace right now no one’s talking peace and the only one who’s talking Victory is Putin you don’t see NATO talking victory in fact the Pentagon has taken the word Victory out of its 400 page dictionary of military terms so if we don’t have we don’t have an idea of what victory is and at what point is it in our interest to proceede and at what one point is it against our interests to prede then then we have no plan now you think Putin doesn’t know this so why shouldn’t he just go ahead and proceed as he wishes because he knows look at the people running the White House now tell us then what what difference would a trump presidency mean uh a Russia Victory more Russian aggression in Europe what would it mean well you could you you could come to terms and I think somehow and it’s not going to be pleasant you know few Wars end on terms that we complet complely like unless we have unconditional Victory and we had that unconditional victory in World War I and that brought us World War II so we have to figure out how to how to uh determine you know what our interests are first and then proceed from that but we don’t have those interest we just have a bunch of rainbow socialists in NATO uh telling us how we should be running our own Sovereign Affairs toward Ukraine okay Michael Waller author of the book big Intel how the CIA and FBI went
