The UK simply doesn’t like stability. It seems the political forces & media there thrive on a constant-on drama from one crisis to another. I don’t know how their populace has the patience, indulgence or emotional energy for it. Many countries would have snapped by now and overthrown the whole system as they’d have had enough.
Are Labour really so desperate to stay relevant that they’re going for independence votes now?
Yes please! Us English will have more money to spend on our own country.
Plaid Cymru is the equivalent of SNP. Their plan, in 2018, was to call for independence in around 2030. Having had a strong showing in government, building up digital industry and showing an ability to rule.
These were knocked back when they didn’t get a significant majority (think 13 of 60 seats?). Welsh independence votes hovers around 30%.
