Hello!
After years of consideration I've finally decided that I'm moving to Norway. Money is not an issue, so I'm fairly flexible in terms of location. I've visited Bergen and surrounding areas which made me fall in love. As such, my focus on finding a property was centered around that area but recently I've checked other counties and am now evaluating the differences. I'm not in a rush, so in the meantime I'm learning your beautiful language <3
Maybe you can help me out?
I'm looking for a cozy remote hytte in the mountains (only on finn.no so far), preferably near water.
I was initially just looking at Rogaland up to Romsdal but recently Telemark and even Nordland catched my eye.
I find all of them have their charm so I wish to collect some experiences from those that maybe moved from the south to the north or viceversa. I know it ultimately comes down to personal preference but maybe there are some flags I'm not yet aware of.
I don't mind wind, snow and rain, nor do I mind the long dark winters or midnight sun. But I do have a preference for a warmer summer in the sense that I won't freeze to death if I wanna jump into the water for a quick swim. That seems less of a good idea the further north I go 😛
Also, in terms of a hytte, how 'bad' are those that are running with an on-plot sewage solution? The one's that are running with septic tanks and/or proper drainage.
In terms of bidding on a hytte, I've been told that it's 'normal' to underbid by 10%-15%. Is that correct? Seems the market is rather slow at the moment, so I figured I'd doublecheck.
Thank you!
