Putin talks peace but warns that Russia’s nuclear rules may change | Ukraine-Russia War

it was only two days ago Russia’s president talked up the prospect of using nuclear weapons now apparently a different side accompanied by the leaders of Bolivia and Zimbabwe this was Putin the peaceful we are significantly stronger in terms of tanks and so on this is why we do not even have to consider such a strike and I would ask everyone not to mention such things idly it may be an economic Forum but this was no time to switch off because when it comes to what might trigger a nuclear strike Russia’s rules he says can always change this Doctrine is a living instrument and we are closely watching what is happening in the world around us and we do not rule out introducing some changes to this Doctrine Vladimir Putin’s comments are unlikely to dampen down concerns in the west because of the way they were phrased we don’t need a nuclear strike because we’re going to win on the battlefield he said while also boasting about Russia’s nuclear Arsenal to me that doesn’t sound like much of a deescalation it’s not seem like that here though discussion panels like this one offer a window into a parallel universe where threats and warnings are seen as rational responses among the speakers Austria’s former foreign minister who famously danced with Putin at her wedding we have today uh too many highly emotional people and here in MOS in pburg but in Moscow uh there is a lot of rational decision a lot of rational behavior and once Vladimir Putin speaking with rationale not emotion no no Vladimir Putin is somebody who is profoundly rationale it’s it’s reciprocity the most popular stand here was for a t-shirt with a famous Putin quote if a fight is unavoidable throw the first punch ominous words for us all Iva Bennett Sky News St Petersburg

  1. The fact that he brags with nukes says everything… Every time US gives stronger military equipment the more putin talks about nukes ! He knows that he will lose if US will give everything they have, that's why he talks about nukes more often ! In fact, he is kind a scared… If China will turn back on russia, it is all over for putin !

  2. Dampen down concerns. Its all done in secret.
No one even knows about ww3 or how close going nuclear is.
Purposely distracting people so they can cause war without a uproar.

  3. Putin threatens to nuke the west like every other day. Maybe because at one time Russia controlled 17% of Ukrainian territory, & now it's down to 11%…

  4. I feel sad for the poor Russian soldiers and their families who've sacrificed their lives because they've been lied to.

  5. Journalists are not there to present their opinion they sre thete to present the facts nothing more when they shove their personal opinion into a report it becomes BIAS NEWS

  6. Always stunning how the Russians forget that the world outside of Russia, has brains with working memories, which propaganda can't magically erase as it seems to for their remaining population.

  7. A great nation decides for itself. Look at Israel, it decided to go to war against the palestinians. Wrong decision, so it is facing the consequences. UK decided on a Rwanda policy, following Australia's lead. Morally wrong but the possibility existed. Or consider Myanmar, where Buddhist monks ran amok, displacing muslims, now there own citizens are displaced and at war against their own army.

  8. So we are past the Leopards, the Abrams, the Storm Shadows, the HIMARS, the F-16s. What's the next NATO escalation weapon that is supposed to stop Russia since everything else has failed?

  9. Putin's "Calculating Mind" keeps his Goal Posts moving so that neither Ukraine nor NATO leaders can guess where his goal is. And, all of a sudden …G…O…A…L

  10. Putin says he wont attack Ukraine if they give up nuclear weapons. Putin then attacks Ukraine, raping and destroying. Ukraine wants to defend itself so gets help. Putin is mad. Putin gets military weapons, ammo and soldiers from other countries because 'his cause'' is just. Ukraine gets military help from other countries so it can defend itself and Putin is wagging his finger, no no, that's not allowed, thats not right because I don't like it. No hypocrisy whatsoever.

He throws the first punch and then gets mad for people defending themselves. What a role model.
