    Kudos to Alvin Bragg for voluntarily appearing. He is well-spoken and intelligent enough to hopefully make Jordan’s corrupt motives worthless to any reasonable observer.

  22. I hope Bragg comes with the receipts showing all the reasons why this case was not a witch trial or politically motivated. Show proof that the timing was at least in part Trump’s fault, that this specific crime is prosecuted all the time, and explain the whole process from investigating to convicting to show just how batshit crazy it is to think that the whole thing was a hoax cooked up to get Trump. So many people would have to be paid off that it boggles the mind.

  26. Every one of Alvin Braggs’s replies should start “The former President and convicted felon Donald J Trump”…every, single, time. Enter that sentence into every historical record including Congress, CSPAN, NPR, etc.

    If they say he doesn’t have to address the committee with the entire phrase, he should do it again, and again.

    His opening remarks should state “I, Alvin Bragg, District Attorney for New York City am here to testify as to the state case, one of many brought and adjudicated with multiple guilty verdicts, both civil and criminal, against Donald J. Trump, convicted felon and former President of the United States. It is also my understanding this committee brought me here to attempt to usurp the right of states and juries to find the convict, Donald J. Trump guilty and bully the city and state of New York into engaging in the kind of political hackery that this Congress and this committee are known for. I am here of my own free will and I will answer your questions as I see fit. May history have mercy on your souls, because I won’t.”

The Committee chair’s requests have been a pretty clear case of partisans controlling the committee to intimidate a state’s judicial branch and move the trial and sentencing from the court of law to a court of public opinion. Moreover, doing so during an active criminal proceeding is wholly inappropriate and risks breaking the separation of powers between the branches of government, subverting checks and balances, and undermining the administration of justice. The District office has been correct in seeking to avoid answering questions during the criminal case, as doing so would engage in partisan obstruction of justice. I applaud its transparency and accountability in continuing to address the correspondence openly with dignity. This is how you demonstrate good civic engagement. Bravo.

  41. This is bullshit. Alvin Bragg has no requirement whatsoever to testify before Congress. Not a not that but the only reason Gym Jordan is doing it is to create a spectacle that will distract from uncomfortable facts for Trump. If anything Bragg should agree to testify… after the election if at all.
