From the article – “The liquid limit will be reintroduced in London City, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, Southend and Teesside airports”
Utterly ridiculous. I wish we could just get rid of the over the top airport security, would prefer to take the risk.
They make decent coin confiscating drinks at one side of the security checkpoint, and then selling drinks on the other side.
Same with suncream, shampoos etc.
There is no way airports will drop a profit unless they are forced to. And nobody seems to force them to do anything.
Same with pick-up/drop off charges, exorbitant parking fees and banning all taxis but the ones that pay the airport a %.
The business mode is just to squeeze as much cash as possible from the public prior to the flight.
The businesses that own airports are leaches that cannot be avoided, unless you never want to travel by air. But as long as Heathrow gets the investment, and treats the politicians like VIPs, the government will never give a fuck about the ‘provincial’ airports.
the human body is essentially a large bag of fluid. Preposterous security theatre
I don’t see an issue. They are clearly trying to get rid of it over time but have reinstated it temporarily, likely due to process improvements to mitigate security issues. I hope that make sure the process is working fine before removing the restrictions so everyone is safer.
Nithing is more permanent than a temporary solution
In Thailand they were refilling bottles and selling at local stores
