  1. Take the kids into care like they would if anyone else’s kids were doing this. Arrest the parents for child neglect.

  2. Got to love that passive voice. Shall we rewrite it more honestly?

    >Wholesome people of caravan have thrown rocks at toddlers, chopped fences with chainsaws and set off fire extinguishers in a café at a popular Bristol park, residents say.

  3. Why, just why do some travellers seem determined to make themselves hated?  I also wish that traveller groups would acknowledge there is anti-social behaviour problem within the community that needs addressing.

  4. Me reading the headline: who would do such a thing?

Me after reading the article: oh I see

  5. >show up

    >commit serious crime

    >get asked politely by police to leave

Wow, our justice system sure showed them

  6. Men are rapists. And pedophiles and domestic abusers.

Is it ok for me to judge men by the actions of individual men? I bet you’d say no.

Judging Travelling folk by the actions of individuals is wrong and immoral too.

  7. These people understand only one type of language, force. Might makes right in their community. Every time they display this behaviour riot cops should swoop in, impound their caravans/cars (wonder how many are properly taxed/insured), and anyone objecting get a beating or two

  8. not shocked. Moved on to destroy the next area they stop at no doubt. Unless the police actually deal with the behaviour and attitude to public property then nothing will change.

  9. This is ten minutes from my house, I go to the site most weekends. We get lots of travellers of different types and group sizes pitching up and the majority are completely fine. However some do cause huge amounts of trouble. The Ardagh is an amazing space built from nothing in a short space of time and the local community has been helping them tidy and clean.

  10. When I lived in Hampton, the local council were very tolerant and welcoming to the Roma families that parked up on the fields by our kids school. One day, a group of kids and teens entered the school and proceeded to smash every computer screen and tower in the room. Then, they started on the windows. Next night, they destroyed the local community center which stayed closed for years afterwards. These are not crusties, they are lethal.
