Today while cleaning the still warm cooktop the power connection suddenly goes off and I find that the power went out for the entire floor as it turned down the MCB.
Since then I have unplugged the device and informed the landlord. I just moved on to this room last Sunday but the guy who was here previously told me this has not happened before.
I have put the MCB back on but the device remains unplugged. I'm not quite sure what have gone wrong since at the time of cleaning the gas was not turned on albeit it was a bit warm. Is that the cause of it? Is it safe to use?
