Blood-soaked Putin finally admits THOUSANDS of Russian soldiers are dying in Ukraine each month

for uh uh for [Music] uh for for for [Music] Russia has been very successful in selling itself as a particular idea of a society and uh it tends to attract people from other countries particularly Western countries that rather like the idea of societal attitudes as they were in their own country 50 to 70 years ago and you know rapidly going in reverse so um the ideological immigrates to Russia these days are far fewer in number than they were during the times of Communism but they’re still attracted by an image that Russia is presenting and in this case it’s a um uh it’s a Traditional Values image uh and then of course you have those individuals that um also see the attraction in Russia simply because it’s the opposite of the West it is the uh the opposite sometimes of the societies that these people think has victimized them because they are failures criminals sex offenders which is an startlingly broad category of or rather group among these people who actually turned to Russia um they blame the the countries or societies that um that they were brought up educated in uh they Embrace a elsewhere and Russia offers that cause and will accept that Embrace and that’s sometimes also the case for not the people who move to Russia themselves but the defectors in place the people who stay in Russian uh sorry stay in Western Society but um are encouraged by Russia to attack it and to take out all of their all of their um frustration and anger and spite by um by harnessing themselves to a cause that actually wants to destroy the the society that um that they’ve feel has let them down so there are lots of different um subcategories of people who who turn to Russia or sometimes even end up in Russia um the one that seems to be um new as opposed to wths which you know go back ages through history is the people who have um found in Russia a convenient place to escape prosecution and uh they hope of course that that doesn’t mean they’re actually going to be you know end up being sent to to fight and die in Ukraine like one or two of them have already and we’ll see how long that lasts absolutely um it’s always a problem and it is it is the same um syndrome as when you had British citizens for example enlisting in Isis uh it is a a similar destructive ideology that um that people have uh have turned to largely because of their own um their own personality disorders and their own failure to to adjust to society because again look at the um the profiles of each of these people and look at um their past history and their behaviors and these are all extremely damaged personalities if not this this would not actually be happening in the first place so you have that the um the the problem that the uh that Russia is actually offering these people um a a home so to speak it’s offering them a an environment in which they can they can act out their fantasies um there’s also the problem of course is of uh as we had with Isis of it’s possible eventually some of these people might want to um to return to the UK either to uh because they realized um that they made a mistake or because they want to reintegrate but it’s going to be a challenge and an issue either way it’s not just enlisting in the Russian Armed Forces you have the the brance the um the people who are working for Russian media in um in the occupied territories in Russia and so on uh in exactly the same way as you had during the second World War uh broadcasters from Nazi Germany um attack their own country because they’ve been um they’ve been they’ve been made to feel valuable by this country’s enemy and they have the kind of personality that that is very effective with I don’t think we need to talk about Putin I think the the way in which these individuals are used for propaganda war against the West is just hardwired into how Russia does things this is something that is uh not a new phenomenon this is something that goes back through so Soviet times um and is is absolutely a core part of how um of how Russia exploits both the the capabilities of information Warfare and also exploits damaged people if you look at the manuals for the kgp for recruiting agents or recruiting propagandists you look for the losers The Misfits the people who have a grudge um the people who have failed in life and think it’s somebody else’s fault it’s it’s a way of of Russia weaponizing losers and misfits and that’s that is always the way it has worked and we should not be surprised by this because it is absolute standard Russian practice
