  1. I’m no lawyer, but he’s going to show zero remorse, and utter contempt, and that’s a bad move

  2. The gag order is still in effect, and he continuously is attacking witnesses in the press. Expect his post conviction behavior to matter here. Merchan was *pissed* at the first two contempt hearings and clearly frustrated that the fines were capped but that jail would invite a circus and delay proceedings. The degree to which Trump is acting out is going to be a factor.

  3. Let him keep hanging himself with that dumbass tie he wears.

  4. Serial violations of the gag order that aren’t getting special hearings seem increasingly likely to mean Merchan is letting it all pile up for sentencing.

I still think prison is very unlikely, even a month, even a week, but hopefully house arrest with a clause for no access to electronic devices and no unapproved visitors…

Ahhh who I am kidding, he’s going to get a purely monetary fine that he’ll just fleece his supporters for.

  5. I’m really, really interested in a jail/prison mugshot as I think you have to remove your hairpiece/extensions/etc

  6. That man cannot shut up constitutionally.

He should be imprisoned for his numerous crimes, but I prefer that his phone be taken away so we can ignore him.

  7. Wouldn’t be surprised if he doubles down on the disrespect, making a mockery of the whole system. Guess we’ll see at sentencing!

  8. Freedom to shut up is often undervalued. Felon Trump is not the first fool to talk himself into a jail cell. He is however the first twice impeached, rapist, convicted felon ex-president to do so.

  9. But he’s totally getting a mistrial based on a Facebook post by someone’s cousin, right? RIGHT!? /s

  10. Could the judge order he be assessed for mental competence? Could have a huge impact beyond the case

  11. I’d say his odds at jail time have gone up tenfold, from zero percent all the way to zero percent. Everyone always bends over backwards to be lenient on that fuck

  12. I think it’s more likely I’ll take the LSAT, become an attorney, and then become a SCOTUS judge.

    But stranger things have happened.

  13. He said he’s “OK” with house arrest.

    c:fuck.dat

  14. Maybe he wants to be thrown in jail. Would make him a martyr to the maga true believers and would make for a fantastic excuse when he loses the general election

  15. One mitigating factor mentioned: “He’s got a history of public service.” ROFL

  16. Easier to keep him in government housing than at his foreign spy infested “clubs” like merde a lardo.

  17. May he find his government-issued nut huggers itchy.

  18. Unless he wins this upcoming election, he is going to find himself with an avalanche of litigation. The gloves will come off.

He will end up rotting in jail.

  19. Your average citizen displaying that type of behavior would most certainly be jailed, old or young.

  20. Put him in a cell. After he loses the election, he can hop from cell to courtroom, as he’s indicted over and over and over again.

  21. I wish it would happen, but I don’t think the judge will dare, and even if he did, Trump would die of old age before the appeals came close to being used up. That also assumes that a bought and paid for NY appellate judge does not just let him go.

  22. One week for each crime. 34 weeks. Approximately 8 1/2 months in prison. Seems awfully fair and probably gets this human shit stain out of our lives in a meaningful way.

  23. Hasn’t he already said he would love to go to jail? I think he believes that will mobilize his base.

Let’s see if he’s right, shall we?

  24. So here’s the thing… Trump is a stooge…he’s being used as a weapon for the far right to get what they want … and they honestly don’t give two fucks about how they get it. If he’s put into prison… the evangelicals who already think he’s their newly appointed Earthly king will use this as another “prop” for his martyrdom. They don’t care who the president is as long as it’s not Biden. Anyone who can help make Project 2025 a reality is who they’ll continue to gather around and throw their weight behind.

  25. Lock the lying, narcissistic, backstabbing, dictating POS up!

  26. As much as I would love to see it, even with 34 convictions, this man is never going to get the justice he deserves. He will pay a small fine and will immediately be back into the business of fucking up our lives.

  27. Let’s say he does get jail/prison time. Is the US obliged to give him secret service protection in prison?

  28. He will never see the inside of a prison cell. Even IF he’s given a custodial sentence, he will appeal and MAGA Republicans will do everything in their power to help him. Any normal person accused of the crimes Donald Trump is would be in a hole in some illegal prison and never heard from again.

There’s also the uncomfortable truth that the collective American “system” does not want a former president no matter how bad incarcerated.

  29. Donald Duck von Shitzinpantz’s recent gag order violations will definitely piss off Merchan beyond a reasonable doubt.

I hope he’ll impose a much harsher sentence next time he meets Donald Duck von Shitzinpantz again in July 11, like 34 x 4 years in Rikers.

  30. I mean, I’ve seen enough people get hammered by the judge for not showing *enough* remorse when convicted of a crime. Trump not only shows NO remorse, but actively sticks his finger in its eye. I fully expect him to be made an example of.

  31. Jail better happen. After all the gag order violations, lack of remorse, and court personnel attacks.

  32. Do you think he’d even show up to report in to prison? Absolutely not. He’ll hid in Florida, I’m sure Desantis will escalate and not comply with an extradition across state lines or some such nonsense. I’m sure the FL legislatures will pull some other bs.

  33. As much as I’d love it and as much as he truly deserves it, there’s no way he ever sees the inside of a jail cell. The system is too afraid to actually do it and it’s a shame
