Sky news making up dramatic stories maybe? It would'nt be the first time. The water was fast flowing but not that deep. Shimmy across to the bank to avoid being swept off 1 foot.
The story is true. The two girls are dead, the boy still missing. They were on a little islet so the river was deeper around them
Amazing no-one tried to swim a few metres ..
If they could stand against the current, surely they could have walked through it.
Doesn't make any sense they were in shallow water and fairly close to the banks who is recording them ..😢

People wondering why they didnt move? A combination of Panic and also the speed of the water, they probably could not swim confidently and Feared being swept off their feet if they moved. Very Very Sad to watch!😢

The current doesn't look to the that strong the way water passes by the trio. If it were, they would have been swept away immediately. Why did they not try to swim at an angle to the current and let it take them to shore? Did they not know how to swim? Very puzzling.

I think it's easy to assume, "they could have easily walked to the other side", but looks are deceiving. Even nature survival shows have made the point that fast, rapid moving water is difficult to move in. The force of the water overpowers the strength of human legs. That's why people sadly get swept away.
Maybe we could download their live steam.
How heartbreaking. Just to add salt and gall, apparently 2 could swim but stayed with the 1 that couldn't. I bet they had second thoughts about that decision.
