  1. An adder he may be, but piss him off and he’ll subtract something from you instead lol

  2. The scale photo is appreciated! It looked 10 times larger without that.

  3. Wow, an Adder! Quite rare to see, but guess that depends where you live. Not so many in the city where I am. Despite trying when in Adder areas, I’ve still never seen one.

  4. Looks like an adder. If you let him bite you, your problems will only multiply. Your family could be divided if you are subtracted from them.

  5. Yea jeez op don’t risk a nip for social media points!

  6. They are incredibly interesting animals and also very calm most of the time. I spent about a month going back and forth to somewhere that has a large population of them and I think the largest I saw was maybe 2-3ft and I saw them breeding and fighting multiple times which was insane.

This one is a young female given the size and the fact that females are often brownish colors, sometimes almost orange, and the males are grey.

I might put a couple of my photos up at some point.

  7. I have seen a few this year in East Anglia. Wait for a warm, sunny day, and go to some heathland. If you’re very quiet and careful with your footsteps you may get a chance to see one too. Also, use iNaturalist to see if any have been spotted nearby.
